من يوم الأحد وأنا أرسل لكم تشويقات عن القصة، وكانت الخطة أن أكشفها لكم يوم الخميس في الساعة 8:08 🌃 لكن يبدو أن القصة نفسها كانت متحمسة أكثر من اللازم وقررت تأخذ وقتها لتظهر في اللحظة المناسبة!

الآن حان وقتها أخيرًا، والغموض لا يزال يحيط بها حتى في ظهورها!

اليوم أقدم لكم عملًا مميزًا من تأليف الكاتب 1000andonenites، الذي يُترجم اسمه حرفيًا إلى “ألف ليلة وليلة”. تُرجمت بعض أعماله إلى اللغة الصينية، وهو يتحدث الإنجليزية، الفرنسية، والفارسية. أترجم له لأول مرة بأسلوبي الخاص لكم.

أعتقد أنه في الليلة الثالثة أو الرابعة التي قضيتها في منزل ديفيد أدركت أنني أستطيع فهم ما يقولونه.

أعني الغربان. أستطيع فهم ما يقولونه. أو بالأحرى، ما ينعقون به.

أتذكر ذلك الصباح - عندما استيقظت، أحدق في السقف غير المألوف، بينما كان ديفيد يتنفس بهدوء بجانبي. اخترق نعيق الغربان النافذة، وسمعت كلمات. جعلني ذلك أتجمد في مكاني.

ثم ما لبثت أن ارتخت أعصابي. لم يكن هناك ما أخشاه. كانت الكلمات بريئة تمامًا. ريح. غيوم. هنا. هناك. سيارات. طعام. تسربت إليّ. نهضت وسرت إلى غرفة المعيشة لمعرفة كيفية استخدام ماكينة القهوة. لماذا تعمل هذه الأشياء بشكل مختلف في كل مكان؟

لم يستيقظ ديفيد. بقيت في غرفة المعيشة، أتناول الفطور وألعب بهاتفي، غير مبالية بالكلمات التي تتدفق إلى أذني. بعدها عدت إلى غرفة النوم لأجده واعيًا، فقلت باستغراب: “ديفيد؟”

تمتم بصوت غاضب، ثم مد يده وجذبني إليه قائلاً بحدة: “أين كنتِ؟”

قلت بدهشة لضيقه غير المبرر: “في غرفة المعيشة.”

سأل بنفس الضيق: “ماذا كنتِ تفعلين هناك؟”

قلت بارتباك: “أوه، تناولت شيئًا ما للتو ولعبت على هاتفي.”

قطب جبينه وقال بصوت منخفض: “الهاتف اللعين طوال الوقت!”. تغير الجو بيننا وأصبح متوترًا. لم أفهم سبب انزعاجه.

لكن بعد لحظات، وكأن غيمة سوداء زالت، عاد سعيدًا، وكان كل شيء رائعًا. نسيت أمر الغربان.

مرت الأيام وتحولت إلى شهور. كل شيء كان جميلًا، إلا عندما لم يكن كذلك. كنت أستيقظ كل صباح قبل ديفيد، أستمع إلى الغربان. أحاول أن أبقى في السرير معه، متماشية مع إيقاعه، لأنه كان يبدو أكثر سعادة عندما أفعل ذلك، وكل شيء يصبح أفضل عندما يكون راضيًا.

لم أخبر أحدًا عن الغربان - لماذا أفعل؟ بدا الأمر كموهبة تافهة وعديمة الفائدة. علاوة على ذلك، كان لدي أمور أخرى تشغلني.

ثم ما لبث أن تراجع، ونفض نفسه، وغادر المنزل، صافقًا الباب خلفه.

تلاشى الخوف مني ببطء، وأفسح المجال لبؤس عارم لم أكن أعلم أنه من الممكن أن أشعر به. ذهبت إلى السرير دون أن أعرف ماذا أفعل، وغفوت وسط بكائي.

دخل نعيق الغربان الحاد أحلامي. امتلأ عقلي بصور الغربان وهي تدور وسط السحب. مزقت صرخة غُراب صاخبة نومي، فاستيقظت منتفضة، ألهث. كنت واعية، ونعيق ذلك الغراب يملأ غرفة النوم. كان بإمكاني رؤية ظله خلف الستارة الشفافة على النافذة، رماديًا في ضوء الفجر الباكر.

لم يكن هناك أي أثر لديفيد.

فتح الغراب منقاره وأغلقه يحدثني: “اهربي!”. قمت من السرير ببطء وتوجهت نحو النافذة. أزحت الستار.

كرر الغراب تحذيره المخيف: “اهربي! سوف يقتلك. إنه في طريقه الآن.”

حدقت في الطائر الأسود الكبير، غير قادرة على الحركة.

صرخ محذرًا عندما رأى تصلبي: “اركضي! سنبقيه منشغلًا لنبطئه!”

بدا أن السماء الرمادية تحولت إلى اللون الأسود عندما ارتفعت آلاف الغربان، وهي تنعق ثم تهبط نحو الممر. سمعت صوت السيارة.
دفعني تحذيره للتصرف بسرعة. قبضت هاتفي وخرجت من الباب الخلفي، وغادرت منزله. أخذت أجري في الشوارع بلا تفكير.

لم أعد أبدًا إلى ذلك الحي، ولم أسمع الغربان تتحدث مرة أخرى بعد ذلك.
