With some free time on my hands, I've been making posters with my photography. Here is one with a selection of ten Ancient Woodland Indicators from the North East.
I'm clearly ready for spring to approach now! 🌱

@TuathaIreland#Cashelkeelty was on the itinerary for the @uniofgalway#Botany student annual 3y excursion to Killarney & Glengarrif. The photo (2004-05-27) shows participants forming a circle that indicates the size of the large stone circle as it existed in the Bronze Age
More evidence to show that rewetting #peatlands is a
win-win-win 1) reduced emissions; 2) C sequestration; 3) resilience to future climate chaos including wildfires.

Can art contribute to bogs conservation? In my personal opinion there is no doubt about it.

A great Irish Bryophyte Group meeting to Deputy's Pass, Co. Wicklow today - delighted to have Professor Daniel Kelly join us. Find of the day was Porella arboris-vitae by @BlackthornEcol - first record in the east of Ireland since 1975. And we even found some stubble.
Vaccinium vitis-idaea (Cowberry), from a raised bog site in East Mayo (H26) - a first record for the vice-county. This species favours consistently moist, acidic soils. It has a NW distribution in Ireland, reflecting its boreal distribution globally @Delichon82
A picture perfect scene from one of Irelands most iconic locations in the west. Pine island, Derryclare Lough, Co Galway. Symmetry, fog, golden light, doesn’t get much better than that. @UKNikon Z6 with 24-70 lens. RT appreciated as always
