Happy 30th! 🎉
No, not my birthday. That was many years ago now.
Today is the 30th anniversary to compulsory superannuation!
On 1 July 1992 Super Guarantee was mandated at 3% (& growing in increments to 9%). Today also marks the first day of minimum 10.5% SG
There is now $3.5 trillion in super. Prior to SG being legislated as compulsory, superannuation was only available for a small number of people who were mainly white collar men in public service. The old voluntary system was discriminatory towards blue collar workers and women.
Last week I flew to Sydney and join @georgiedent & The Parenthood so that we can be part of a round table meeting to talk with @AlboMP to discuss Improved access to quality early childhood education & care. Change is coming! #auspol
