i’m confused as to why people act like an apology is the end of the world. At the end of the day it was two black men on stage having slurs hurled at them without context as to why it was happening. Even if it was involuntary a simple apology goes a long way

I get Jemele's position and know it should be seriously considered. But we must be straightforward. This IS asking him to apologize for his disability. There's no getting around that. It's the reason people with speaking disorders (I speak with a stutter) shy away from public.
