Incredible (and stand to be corrected, but have checked extensively before writing this) that not one single politician or one mainstream media outlet is prepared to tell you, that it is people from outside the EU that make up 70% of the increase in homeless-in-emergency-accommodation in the past year (664 out the 961 increase), that despite there being a monthly decline in May 2026 of homelessness overall, the number of non-EU homeless INCREASED in the month. That Irish now make up less than 50% of the homeless.

They are petrified that you will link homelessness to immigration (especially non-EU), when the statistics plainly show that to be the case.

Here's the spreadsheet prepared inhouse here showing the analysis for the past year (it shows adults only because the Dept of Housing doesn't provide a split for children).

Look at the RTE report, they KNOW that this is a contentious issue, both for politicians and society generally, but completely ignore the non-EU homeless.

- NGOs get elevated reporting status under "super-complaint" scheme 👑
- Trusted flaggers, an EU initiative, also applies to NGOs and fact-checkers 🚩
- Under-16 social media bans have a convenient bedfellow ⛔️
- The taxpayer gets the bill 🫰

Brusselstown Ring sits on a high ridge above the Wicklow lowlands, looking west toward the Shannon basin and east toward the Irish Sea. It kept its greatest secrets for centuries until December 2025, when researchers from Queen’s University Belfast announced it was the largest prehistoric nucleated settlement in Ireland or Britain.

More than three thousand years ago it was teeming with life at a time before civilsation was thought to exist in that form on this island. Before this discovery, we only had evidence of hillforts of that age containing a handful of structures.

But using aerial survey, LiDAR, and photogrammetry, archaeologists identified over 600 circular house platforms at Brusselstown, packed tightly within the inner enclosure of the fort. This incredibly suggests a community of thousands of prehistoric people, living together in a permanent settlement.

The sites huge. Theres the core settlement of about 41 hectares, enclosed by two massive ramparts. But them it stretches to an outer complex of about 131 hectares. And Brusselstown ring itself wasnt isolated. It was the central node in the broader Baltinglass hillfort cluster. Kind of like a regional capital of prehistoric Leinster.

Radiocarbon dating places the main occupation in the Late Bronze Age, roughly 1200 to 800 BC, with evidence of continued use into the Early Iron Age. And thats the mad part because it pushes what we believed about large scale, organised communal living in Ireland back five centuries earlier than previously assumed.

Irish people were living primitive urban lives long before written history. An absolute gem of prehistoric engineering is the stone lined feature interpreted as a water cistern, which implies so much like long-term planning and collective labour.

Perhaps me favourite aspect of the findings is the equality in size and structure of all the gaffs. There are larger structures exist, but they dont contain richer material culture. So theres no obvious quarters for the "elite" set apart from the rest. Just a densely packed and broadly uniform settlement, suggesting a highly organised but relatively egalitarian society.

This challenges a deep-rooted assumptions that complex prehistoric Irish required rigid hierarchy or external influence. Brusselstown Ring suggests community capable of coordination on a massive scale without obvious stratification.

On RTE's daily flagship current affairs programme today @BarryAndrewsMEP debated @ReginaDo about new EU asylum processing.

Barry stated as fact that after Australia introduced offshore processing that the number of boats arriving increased.

Having recently reseached this issue in the wake of comments during the Dublin by-election, this didn't sit well, so Grok was consulted and this is what Grok says.

It doesn't quite say that Barry Andrews pants are ablaze but he is misleading people. And neither the FG MEP nor Morning Ireland challenged him about it.

The Parnell Square accused Riad Bouchaker (52) visited and spent 10 minutes at a Sunni Muslim mosque on nearby Talbot Street, 90 minutes before allegedly launching a knife attack on children.

Whilst there have been reports on RTE and Mirror that the accused visited a premises at 8-9 Talbot Street, none have disclosed that this "premises" is a Sunni Muslim mosque.

If Paddy McGinty had visited a church 90 minutes before allegedly carrying out an atrocity, you can be bloody sure that would be reported.

RTE Six One News reports today’s proceedings at the Parnell Square stabbing prosecution. They omit any reference to the accused, an Algerian, saying “Shit Irish. Shit Fucking Irish” just ahead of the attack which some people might regard as significant.

Yes, RTE may have a challenge reporting the vulgarity to an early evening audience, but to omit any reference or sanitised version which connotes what was said, is poor form.
