Just because a President announces he’s agreed to a two week ceasefire moments before he threatened to commit war crimes, does not mean he is suddenly fit to serve. #25thAmendment
🚨THIS IS EVIL: Israeli television just put up a countdown clock to the moment Trump wipes out Iran’s civilization.
A countdown clock.
Like a sporting event. Like New Year’s Eve.
Michael Parenti (1933-2026) died today. He has, as his son Christian said, 'gone to the Great Lecture Hall in the Sky'. A socialist from early into his life till the very end, Michael Parenti wrote in a feisty way and spoke bluntly the truths that were not always easy to digest in a wretched capitalist system. He was a fierce critic of imperialist wars and suffered the consequences of this because he could keep and then hold academic jobs even in liberal states such as Vermont.
The toughest test for all of us came when the USSR collapsed, and it was in this period that Michael Parenti played an important role in the Battle of Ideas, fighting the reactionary Western media and the intellectual cowardice of his peers. His books on Yugoslavia's destruction earned him terrible attacks, which he brushed off as the necessary price you pay in this struggle. In the midst of it all, Michael wrote 'Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism' (1997), a rebuttal to the anti-Marxist and anti-Communist blather that had begun to infect the world. The book remains an essential tool to fight against the ridiculous anti-communist historiography that demeans the great achievements of the workers' movements.
He spent the last period of his life within himself, which was a loss to the rest of us, and now his departure leaves us without that anchor which he provided.
Michael Parenti. Comrade. Our Red Flag dips in your honour.
RIGHT NOW: Minneapolis is SHUT DOWN.
20,000+ people have flooded the streets in an emergency protest after federal agents killed ICU nurse Alex Pretti.
This was an execution. And the city is responding like it knows it.
As insane as this sounds, it’s true: Pam Bondi sent Minnesota officials a letter today saying ICE would leave the state if Minnesota turns over its voter files to the Trump Administration.
They’re openly using state violence as a bargaining chip to seize election infrastructure.
Governor,
You have the Minnesota National Guard troops. Deploy them. Arrest the ICE agents. Enforce the laws and defend your people against Trump's Terrorists.
Donald Trump and all your lieutenants who ordered this ICE surge: watch the horrific video of the killing today. The world is watching. Thousands of citizens stopped and harassed. Local police no longer able to do their work. Kids hiding. Schools closed. Get ICE out of Minnesota NOW. And Republicans in congress: Stop your silence and stop being complicit.
To all the congressional Democrats who say they’re in the minority so you can’t do anything here’s an idea- start whipping together the votes to replace Hakeem Jeffries who let this happen. Maybe for once think about what the country needs not just what preserves your own power.
Americans are being killed in the street by their government. Our Constitution is being shredded and our rights are dissolving. Resist.
Senate Dems should block ICE funding this week. Activate the National Guard.
We can and must stop this.
🚨BREAKING: Anti-ICE protesters and clergy are now staging a sit-in at Target’s headquarters in Minneapolis, demanding Target stop letting ICE use Target property and parking lots.
This comes after video and reporting out of the Twin Cities showing federal agents detaining people at/near Target locations during the recent enforcement surge.
Target is now getting pulled into it, and Minnesota isn’t backing down.
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.
🚨BREAKING: ICE agents just threatened to shoot a U.S. citizen for exercising his First Amendment right to observe and film ICE activities… and it was all caught on camera.
In the video, agents come up to a man’s car after stopping in front and behind him, aggressively pounding on his window and yelling:
“This is your warning… stop fucking following us. You are impeding operations.”
The man says, “This is my house. I’ve got to get to my house.”
The agent then tells him, “This is your warning… go home to your kids.”
Which is a chilling thing to say when a U.S. citizen is literally driving through his own neighborhood… and being told he isn’t allowed to do so.
Then the camera pans to the other window, where another agent stands with his gun drawn.
Not holstered. Gun in hand.
The man rolls down his window and calmly says, “You should go to church.”
The agent replies, “You’re making bad decisions.”
Bad decisions… like driving in your own neighborhood? Filming? Breathing?
And then the original agent comes back to the car yelling:
“You are not going to like the outcome. I guarantee that.”
They’re not being vague. They’re not cautioning him.
What they mean by “the outcome” is spelled out seconds later:
“Go home to your children. It’s Sunday. Did you not learn from what just happened?”
This is a threat.
This is intimidation.
This is armed government agents using lethal force as a warning against constitutional rights.
They are telling the public that anyone who observes them, anyone who films them, anyone who doesn’t immediately disappear, can expect the same outcome as Renee Good.
And that is exactly how we know the government does not believe that shooting was self-defense.
Because you don’t use “self‑defense” as a warning to people who haven’t done anything wrong.
