I have two separate but related reactions to this post:
1. This is one of the most honest and relatable takes on grief I've ever seen. Because it really is the day-to-day sh*t that fcks you up. And it's just gonna be like this just... until I die, too? That's some bullsh*t.
2. Kevin's ability to get this off, make it funny AND keep it so emotionally poignant with you feeling/seeing his anger/sadness (bc this is "the nerve of you to fcking be dead") is comedic brilliance. Like, Pryor level brilliance. Real talk. It seems simple; it's not.
Don't stop talking about Congo
Don't stop talking about Kenya
Don't stop talking about Ethiopia
Don't stop talking about Sudan
Don't stop talking about Nigeria
The black people that think Trump gave out stimulus checks are exactly who needs to understand this message. He’s saying he will allow the police to openly murder you. No coverups, no paid leave, no trials, they just get to kill.
“I don’t do politics”
Baby, politics is gonna do you, regardless.
Your mayor, council person, state rep, all the way up to president, do not care if you do politics or not.
The laws impact you.
It’s important that you know what is going on.
