DBPD’s Honor Guard presented colors at the agency’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch. DBPD has 220 active volunteers, saving the city about $400,000 in payroll each year.

DBPD detectives are at the scene of an apparent fatal shooting at 231 N.W. 7th Ave. Anyone with information about the incident can report it to DBPD’s non-emergency line at 561-243-7800.

Of the 67 reported vehicle burglaries in Delray Beach for February, 33 were to unlocked vehicles.
Of the 18 reported auto thefts, 10 were left unlocked with their keys left inside.

UPDATE: The driver, Elson Silencieux, is facing charges of 2nd degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of a traffic crash with a fatality and leaving the scene of a traffic crash with serious bodily injury.
