That's what concerns me.
I understand that no-one wants to own a team in a frontier league in their first season. Someone has to own these teams and right now, it's the league itself.
That being said, they have willfully disclosed to the public that they can trade whoever they want wherever they want, simply to "meet the goals and objectives" of the league. That vague language gives them freedom to control the product on the field.
Denae Benites and Kelsie Whitmore are the two main draws in the league currently. You best believe they're going to try and capitalize on that. Give their respective teams the best players available, manufacture a storyline and watch the money flow.
The only question is how much further will the league go until either they believe they have a viable product to expand and open the teams for sale or the league execs decide enough is enough and run for the hills. With the fact that no team has a dedicated pitching coach and the rumors swirling around that the league is failing to meet payroll, I fear the direction is headed towards the latter.
I just wish it didn't look painfully obvious.
Hate to say it, but Denae is not a pro catcher right now.
Now, this is NOT a knock on her physical abilities. There's no debate she is one of, if not the most talented player in the league.
My concern for her is her mental makeup in general. The past two games now, she's let her emotions get the better of her.
If she played in any other position on the field, this wouldn't be as big of deal. But as a catcher, she's the unofficial captain of the diamond. Not only is she responsible for keeping the pitcher in check, she's responsible for ensuring the infield is on the same page, relaying the strategies her manager sets to them all.
No catcher in the world, no matter how talented, can accomplish that if they can't keep themselves in check. This is why the pitcher/catcher pairing is called a battery. If one lead fails, the battery can't function properly. That's exactly what's happening with NY, and the root of the issue leads to Denae.
I imagine she'll have a long, successful career in baseball, if she decides to pursue it. But if she wants to continue to be a catcher, she has a LOT of growing up to do, simply because the expectations are that much higher.
Again, this is NOT a knock on her talent. This isn't even a knock on her passion for the game. She just needs to either collect herself better or change positions. I'm interested in seeing what she does from here.
@Krisclemente77@RedditCFB The team they beat (I believe Louisiana) and Bourne LL were meant to play in the elimination game to determine who faces Tulsa. But because Tulsa got instabanned, that game turned into the Regional Championship.
The dumbest thing Brian has done in his career is not become terminally stupid like Nogla. Otherwise, he would be far more interesting to watch, which would've gotten him past that other Irishman in subs by the time he sponsored his local football club. At least they accomplished their goal recently.
@Terroriser If a stone is found in a potato field, the farmer can keep the stone to use for something else.
If a Nogla is found in a potato field, the farmer suddenly remembers why he kept the stone in the first place . . .
@ShamsCharania So that fake Shams account wasn't wrong. Just early.
Either that or they made the decision a while ago and that guy got the inside scoop.
Only way I can explain it.
@HulverShawn@left2reigns Yes he should. The boos should be damn near blistering your eardrums.
Here, barely anyone reacts to his entrance. The boos you hear aren't because he's a heel. The boos are because they dont care to watch him anymore.
Since that point I have now:
- Crossed 11,000 stars
- Won 46 more Mass Races
I am not good at most games, yet it now feels safe for me to say that I am one of the better players in the world.

It's been three weeks since I returned to playing this game. I have since:
- Won seven more mass races
- Won three mass races in a row
- Joined the #192Club
- Became a Riders Ridge Legend
Safe to say I'm not putting this game away for three years again.

@WeathersWins The Yankees. Grisham is their only reliable CF, and they're never gonna trade Volpe. He'll either hit free agency or they cut him. No in between.
