This week, @ALPAPilots hosted its 2026 Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. Several Delta MEC pilot volunteers attended the summit to receive hands-on training on ALPA policy priorities and engagement strategies with federal lawmakers. The event featured legislative briefings, workshops, subject matter expert (SME) presentations, a Capitol Hill reception, and a high profile “Lobby Day” to meet directly with members of Congress and staff. #ALPA2026Summit
Thank you to all the pilots who attended the ALPA Legislative Summit this week! Our collective voice can enact real change in aviation safety. #alpa2026summit@Delta_Pilots@ALPAPilots
This past Sunday, the Delta MEC hosted its Hogs, Hops, and Warbirds Family Awareness Event and Fly-In. More than 1,000 pilots, family members, and friends came out to Airbase Georgia in Peachtree City to enjoy great music, fun activities for the kids, excellent food and drinks, and the chance to connect with fellow ALPA members.
Attendees also had the opportunity to hear directly from MEC leadership and the Negotiating Committee, who provided updates and insight into the current negotiating environment. Thank you to everyone who attended and showed your unity, especially as we pursue the next industry-leading contract for the Delta pilots. We would especially like to recognize the pilots and families who flew in for the event and made the event just that much more unique. Now, more than ever, your engagement with your Union is critical to ensuring our collective success.
Keep an eye out for a future MEC Family Day event coming to your base soon!
The Delta MEC is proud to welcome our newest pilots who started New Hire Orientation on May 12! We’re excited to have you here and look forward to seeing you on the line soon!
ALPA is fully supporting Spirit pilots and working closely with our industry partners on soft-landing opportunities as our pilots move forward. Thank you for standing with Spirit pilots over the years.
@ejvpilot Check Section 1 of our Pilot Working Agreement to see the details on preferential interview status the Delta MEC negotiated for ALPA pilots from other carriers facing this exact scenario.
Due to the unfortunate shutdown of Spirit Airlines, the Delta MEC has reached out to the Spirit MEC to offer our full support, including helping stranded pilots get home. We are asking all Delta pilots to make the walk and assist our Spirit brothers and sisters in getting back to their families.
Our thoughts are with every Spirit pilot and employee during this incredibly difficult time.
Spirit Airlines shut down its operation overnight. Spirit pilots will remain in the CASS system until 2300 tonight (2MAY). Please make the walk and offer any Spirit pilot needing a ride the jumpseat so they can get home. Thanks for helping our fellow @ALPAPilots during this difficult time.
"The pain of this decision will not be felt in boardrooms. It will be felt by pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, dispatchers, and ground crews, and by the families and communities that depend on them. More ➡️ https://t.co/UxTMtno40w
Today we honor the memory of pilots and all workers who have been injured or killed on the job, and renew our commitment to the fight for safer workplaces. #WorkersMemorialDay
Note: This podcast was recorded on April 1, 2026, prior to the 2026 1Q earnings call. Though some of the numbers referenced in this podcast have been slightly revised, the 2026 1Q earnings once again demonstrate Delta’s ability to generate a revenue premium. Total revenue for the quarter was a record-setting $14.2 billion, up nearly 10% from the same time last year.
As openers have been exchanged and Section 6 negotiations are officially underway, the noise is getting louder– with record profits, premium demand, inflation, and global instability. So, what’s real and what actually matters for pilots heading into Section 6? In this episode, host First Officer Ryan Argenta sits down with ALPA’s Senior Economic & Financial Analysis (E&FA) Analyst Rushi Patel to break down the numbers behind the headlines and decipher what they mean for pilot leverage right now. Delta is delivering record revenue and profitability, driven by a structural shift towards premium demand, strong brand positioning, and diversified revenue streams. But beneath the surface, macro risks still exist, and timing matters. The question isn’t just whether Delta can afford a deal. It’s whether pilots fully understand the position they’re negotiating from.
This conversation cuts through the noise:
-Why Delta and United are capturing over 100% of industry profits
-The real impact of premium cabin strategy and shifting demand
-How resilient the current economic environment actually is
-What inflation, oil, and geopolitics mean (and don’t mean)
-Why these negotiations are unique and not a repeat of the previous cycle
Bottom line: Pilots are entering negotiations from a position of strength - but strength without strategy leaves value on the table.
Be informed. Be engaged. And understand the moment.

Raise the Bar | Hold the Line. Yesterday, the pilots of Delta Air Lines officially began negotiations with management for our next contract with the exchange of opening positions. Delta’s passengers pay a premium for a Delta seat due in no small part to the service and professionalism that Delta pilots deliver every day. The Delta pilots’ contract must reflect this premium.
