In another scenario, Frisk could be a vessel created, like an improved version, colored version

If Frisk fell in the same way as Chara (as shown in the introduction of Undertale), it is likely that Frisk died. At that moment, the soul takes over its body.
Perhaps Kris also died, or at least was at a critical point that allowed the taking of his body.
