Inio Asano, Ano, and Lilas Ikuta were present today during a screening of the first half of the two movie Dedede anime adaption. Asano mentioned that at first he wasn't sure how much he should be involved with the movie, but ended up involved in the entirety of the production, from script, to casting and even music. He remarks that for the first movie alone he requested 100 or 200 recuts and worked on them himself over the last 5 or 6 years. Even the preview screening is "incomplete" as they're still doing retakes that will be seen in the film when it opens next month.

He says that the relationship between an author and adaptation is a difficult one, but he hopes people enjoy the movie.

Part one will open March 22, 2024
Part two will open April 19, 2024.

The anime is helmed by Tomoyuki Kurokawa and animated by Production +h with scripts by Reiko Yoshida and music by Taro Umebayashi.
