My first year with an artificial tree I put the top in the middle by mistake because the way the middle piece was sitting in the box I thought it was filler pieces - I stepped back and said wait I bought a 9 foot tree , what I thought were filler pieces was the middle section lol. It looked good without the middle piece so now when I don’t feel like having a 9 ft tree I purposely leave out the middle. A good high quality artificial tree can look complete with just the two pieces especially if it’s a tall tree.
