The Democratic Mayors Association represents mayors across the country who have a common vision for progress and inclusive growth in their communities.
I first ran for mayor as an independent, taking on my own party to clean up a corrupt city hall. They called our campaign “Paige Against the Machine.”
Now I'm running to take on the broken system in Washington, just like I did in Scranton.

Kansas City always loves attention—particularly when we bring healthy food, good-paying jobs, and smart government-incentivized grocery stores back to our urban core. A great day at the new United Market at 31 and Prospect.
Kansas City is bridging gaps and bridging divides.
.@Scranton_Mayor Paige Cognetti: "I will not sit by and let the people of northeastern Pennsylvania have somebody representing them that is truly just there for themselves.”

Stable Homes Stable Schools has now housed over 7 thousand kids - and these kids will be wildly successful because they will have a foundation to rise.
Proud to bring healthy, affordable food back to the core of our city. We will never stop fighting—through ups and downs—for the health and success of all of our people. Kansas City did right.
In just one year, Mayor @BarbaraLee_CA has delivered exactly the kind of results-driven leadership our cities need right now. Homicides are at a 58-year low, violent crime is down, neighborhoods are cleaner, and thousands of units of affordable housing are breaking ground — all while standing firm against federal overreach and protecting Oakland's immigrant communities. Mayor Lee is proving what Democratic mayors do best: show up and deliver for the people who need it most.
Grateful for the chance to sit down with @KTVU and reflect on the past year and work ahead. I shared that I’d love another four years to keep building on the progress we’ve made, delivering real results for Oakland.
In just one year:
- Homicides hit a 58-year low in 2025 (fewest since 1967); homicides/shootings down 49% since 2023. Thanks to Operation Ceasefire, violent crime is down 22% and homicides are down 39% as of April 2026. Robberies are down 23% and burglaries are down 24%.
- Illegal dumping cleanup reduced from 26 days to 5.5 days
- 1,600+ affordable housing units under construction.
There’s more to do—and I’m ready to keep going.

Oakland is on the move!
I saw the homelessness crisis firsthand in the emergency room at County General.
Many of my patients shouldn’t have been in the ER — they were there because they had no clinic to go to. No primary care. No safety net. So they ended up in crisis.
Now that same building is becoming a Healthy Village — affordable housing, wellness services, and real opportunity for our community.
My work on this issue never stopped. There’s still a lot to do, but I’m changing the way Los Angeles approaches this crisis with comprehensive services. That’s how we’ll making a lasting impact.
Climate Mayor @JustinMBibb of #Cleveland speaks with @grist reporter Jake Bittle on why mayors on the front lines can't afford to wait to act on climate, regardless of what's happening in Washington.

If someone's mental health goes untreated, they don't have access to medical care, and their basic needs are never addressed — don't be surprised when they end up back on the street.
That's what happens when homelessness is treated like a housing problem instead of a human one.
St. Vincent changes that. 800 beds, mental health care, medical treatment, and a path to permanent housing. We're finally addressing why people end up on the street to begin with.
A 200% increase in applications.
Major violent crime down.
The most diverse group of officers in our city’s history.
And one of the most significant reform efforts happening anywhere in the country.
The work Chief Brian O’Hara has led in Minneapolis deserves to continue.
Officially signed Council Bill 26-01444 into law, reaffirming Baltimore's commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and safety of our immigrant communities who call Baltimore home.
Thank you, Councilman @ParisgrayD8, Councilwoman @odetteramos, and Councilman @1stDistrictMark for their leadership on this bill, and everyone who helped get this bill across the finish line.
We’re thrilled that Orlando will have a prominent spot on the road to LA 2028! We look forward to collaborating to host this four-day global sports showcase, which will allow our city to once again play a part in the Olympic Games.
Your waste → fertilizer and clean energy.
Our new Biosolids Facility heats waste under high pressure, then uses natural bacteria to convert it into fertilizer for farms. Every day, the facility cleans 75 million gallons of wastewater and keeps our environment cleaner.
