Business Month - Accelerated math students are busy calculating annual financial statements based on their store “sales.” They are headed to a Board Room at the end of the month to present their profit and loss statements. Amazing creativity this year!!
Business Week turned into Business Month this year due to hurricane interruptions. Accelerated math students hand made samples to “sell” during class. Based on those sales, they estimated annual sales, applied for small business loans, and calculated state sales tax.
Business Week at Wilson! Students developed unique business plans, calculated costs, markups, discounts, sales tax, and “sold”handmade products to each other in math class this week. Incredible creativity from these future business leaders!!
Explored Sombrero Reef, Coffins Patch, and middle Keys this summer. Found so many queen conch (photo and replace). I never get tired of this beautiful water.
Board Room Stats Project - 6th grade Accelerated students generated primary data from original surveys, analyzed outliers and discussed results. Groups will compile statistical reports and present results next week.
Living things must constantly adapt to their ever changing environments. Today, 3rd grade @rpk8magnet arrived to a VERY different environment and had to learn to adapt (and they DID!!). This provocation today helped begin our new IB unit about plant and animal adaptations.

Innovation Station Expo showcased 3rd Grade student inventions. Students created working invention prototypes and presented their projects to the whole school this month.
