Decreased sunlight may cause someone with dementia to feel increased anxiety and depression during the winter.
You can help by making sure they’re exposed to natural daylight when possible. A quick walk around the block or sitting in the garden for a few minutes can do wonders.
As dementia progresses, you may see changes in a person’s behaviour. Family roles and relationships may change, and this can be challenging.
