The NC House has just passed the SB 280 the Dominique Moody Act.

This bill puts child safety first by greatly strengthening the oversight of high-risk abuse and neglect cases to ensure vulnerable children don't fall through the cracks. #ncpol

Today, the House passed the Dominique Moody Act, strengthening accountability and allowing earlier intervention when child abuse is reported.

A 6-year-old child weighing just 27 lbs and in a dog crate is a tragedy that should never have happened. We must do everything in our power to ensure this never happens again.

Dominique Moody is dead because Mecklenburg County DSS failed to act on no less than four occasions. When action was needed to save her life, they did NOTHING!

Despite Dominique Moody being found dead weighing just 27 pounds, with cuts across her body and covered in feces, Mecklenburg County’s DSS Director still claimed the department “did a good job” on the case.

Dem Rep. Ager just referred to the horrific murder of six-year-old Dominique Moody as an “accident.”

Dominique was subjected to months of abuse, was found in a dog crate, and weighed 27 pounds.

Calling that an “accident” isn't a mistake. It's a disgrace.
