I feel that zelensky has done for Ukraine a feat that no other man could have come close. to. He is proud. he stands tall for Ukraine, but also for Ukraine he has had to exercise humility.
I believe that the Ukraine ppl are very much like zelensky. honorable. determined. strong.
I support Zelensky, the Ukraine defense and the ppl of Ukraine. with all my heart and soul.
I want to express my particular gratitude to the United Kingdom and France: there is a decision from France to provide Ukraine with additional Mirage fighter jets and air defense missiles, while the UK will continue to assist us with air defense by supplying missiles and producing interceptor drones – thank you for that.
There are also new decisions by Finland and Spain to contribute to the PURL initiative – a mechanism for procuring American weapons, including missiles for the Patriots. We are working on this with full focus, and our defense arrangements with European partners are working clearly. We are preparing new projects – there will be more joint weapons production.
And for the world to address Russia from a position of strength, we in Ukraine must stand on strong ground ourselves. It’s crucial to always compare what the Russians were commanded to do and by when, with what they actually managed to achieve. Ukraine’s resistance is truly heroic.
Today we have a new package of energy support from Norway – already the third this year – amounting to about 150 million dollars for gas purchases this winter. Energy support is extremely important.
I thanked Norway for this assistance and Prime Minister @jonasgahrstore personally during our meeting. I informed him about the consequences of today’s Russian attack. I am grateful for Norway’s solidarity and condolences. We discussed Ukraine’s needs for air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as other steps that can strengthen Ukraine during the winter.
We also discussed our defense cooperation separately – the production of drones and missiles, and the expansion of the PURL initiative. We coordinated our positions and upcoming meetings to be held in Europe this week.
We are very grateful for the great support of the Norwegian people – air defense systems, missiles for these systems – all of this saves lives.
The frontline can spark diplomacy. Instead, Russia continues to do everything to weasel out: as soon as the issue of long-range capabilities for Ukraine became less immediate, their interest in diplomacy faded. This signals that deep strike capabilities may hold the key to peace.
Today, we are opening an entirely new and truly meaningful chapter in our relations—relations between Ukraine and Sweden, and more broadly, overall security relations in Europe.
Today, we have the first document signed between our countries, paving the way for Ukraine to acquire a substantial fleet of Swedish-made fighter jets—Gripens. These are great aircraft, strong aviation platforms capable of performing a wide range of missions. Everyone can see what threats they help counter. We expect that the future contract will enable us to obtain at least 100 of these jets.
I thank @SwedishPM Ulf Kristersson and Sweden for their readiness to cooperate on this matter, as well as the Saab company, which manufactures the Gripens.
❗️Zelenskyy: “If I include two russian regions in Ukraine’s Constitution — will they leave them?”
Ten years of occupation, then a fake “referendum,” then “it’s in the Constitution”.
Nice model, right?
So next time putin sneezes - we just redraw the map again?
No. This model doesn’t work.
And Ukraine isn’t swallowing it.
