Bringing transparency to those undermining our democracy under the guise of protection. Fighting to return decision-making power to elected representatives.
Federal law enforcement SPYING on private citizens and COVERING it up.
How was this allowed to happen?
FBI officials secretly obtained phone records of Kash Patel and Susie Wiles while the pair were private citizens during the Biden administration. Worse, the records were categorized as “prohibited” to make them harder to find.
Thankfully, those officials were FIRED by the Trump administration. Still, this episode raises serious questions about the use of investigative authority and the safeguards in place to prevent political misuse.

The issue here isn't politics.
The issue is whether someone working for the federal government, on a tax-payer funded salary, thinks this kind of behavior is appropriate in the first place.
SCOOP: Meet Elias Siegelman, a leftist who works for the IRS, according to his LinkedIn. He commented on a Christian non-profit's TikTok video saying, "Anyone got a grenade?"
This appears to be a direct threat to blow up Christians.
Our tax dollars pay his salary.
Is this behavior acceptable @IRSnews?
Imagine finding out federal agencies were partnering with organizations that actively oppose the very policies voters elected a government to carry out.
That’s exactly why reviews like this matter.
Groups should not be receiving federal funds while working against an elected administration’s priorities.
Interior Secretary Burgum axes 43 partnerships and scraps $4M in funding after a department-wide review flagged groups tied to DEI, environmental justice and services for illegal immigrants as 'operating in direct opposition' to the Trump administration's mission. The terminated agreements include internship programs, conservation initiatives and cooperative partnerships with groups ranging from the Hispanic Access Foundation to the National Geographic Society.
One of the BIGGEST problems in government is when federal employees treat policy decisions like suggestions instead of instructions.
DR Director @HoustonKeene’s op-ed discusses how the federal bureaucracy’s childish games undermine representative government and the will of the American people.

In an interview with @stevegrubershow this morning, Democracy Restored Director @HoustonKeene discussed the recently filed complaint against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson.
If the allegations against SPLC prove true, Benson has a lot of explaining to do 👇
2/ Democracy Restored also filed a BAR COMPLAINT seeking an investigation into former DOJ attorney Sanjay Patel over his role in Biden-era FACE Act prosecutions targeting pro-life activists.
According to documents released by DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group, Patel allegedly coordinated with abortion advocacy groups, shared nonpublic information, and helped drive an uneven application of justice against ideological opponents.

It was a BIG week in the effort to ensure our governments work for us.
This week, Democracy Restored filed TWO bar complaints seeking investigations into public officials whose actions deserve serious scrutiny. 🧵
1/ Democracy Restored called for an investigation into Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson over her past ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Benson served on the SPLC board between 2014 and 2018. With the organization now facing a federal indictment alleging a scheme involving bank fraud and funds tied to groups it publicly claimed to oppose, those connections warrant a closer look.
ICYMI: Democracy Restored filed a BAR COMPLAINT seeking an investigation into former DOJ attorney Sanjay Patel over allegations he weaponized the FACE Act against pro-life activists while coordinating with abortion advocacy groups.
Quote from Democracy Restored Director @HoustonKeene:
“The Trump administration’s government weaponization report shone a needed light on the unequal application of justice by the Biden administration when it came to the FACE Act. The report illustrates that Mr. Patel was a key player in this malfeasance and calls into question his ability to hold a law license in New York, let alone anywhere in America. The American people, especially the pro-life advocates who became victims of his targeted and unconstitutional attacks on them, deserve nothing but accountability.”

ICYMI: Democracy Restored has filed a BAR COMPLAINT for an investigation into Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and her years-long ties with the SPLC.
Secretary Benson was on the SPLC board during the deadly Unite the Right demonstration in 2017. Her association with the SPLC goes back to at least 2004.

Here's the part nobody wants to say out loud: federal employment was NEVER supposed to come with near-permanent job security.
At-will employment is NORMAL. What's abnormal is building a system where removing poor performers becomes a years-long battle, if not nearly impossible.
That's not worker protection. That's bureaucracy protecting itself.
🚨 BREAKING: President Trump signs major DOGE EXECUTIVE ORDER, helping FIRE Deep State rogue federal workers in policymaking roles, and holding them accountable for undermining the America first agenda
LFG! KEEP DOGEING 🔥
"It's been almost impossible to fire a federal employee."
"This treats employees like private sector workers."
"If they mess up, they can be removed quickly rather than taking long."
@EricLDaugh For DECADES, Washington built a system where federal employees enjoyed protections most Americans never get.
The federal workforce was NEVER meant to be untouchable.
Exactly why @DemoRestored has filed a BAR COMPLAINT for an investigation into Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and her years-long ties with the SPLC.

If attorneys inside the Justice Department are using the power of government to advance political causes instead of applying the law fairly, that’s not advocacy – it’s an abuse of public trust that deserves serious scrutiny.

Thanks for sharing, Secretary Benson was an active SPLC board member between 2014 and 2018, amid an uptick in white supremacist activities across America including the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally.
With the allegations against the SPLC and Secretary Benson's robust history with them, there must be a thorough investigation.
5/ In an interview with @ReidRevolution, @HoustonKeene discussed the growing trend of federal employees openly working against elected leadership from INSIDE the federal government.
🧵THREAD: Here’s some of what Democracy Restored got up to in May
1/ After hurricanes hit Florida in the wake of the 2024 election, a FEMA employee reportedly told staff to SKIP OVER homes supporting then-President-elect Trump.
DR filed a FOIA request to uncover how deep that political bias went inside FEMA. Over a year later, we received NOTHING.
Now, we've taken FEMA to court.
4/ @Tyler2ONeil covered EPA lawyer and government union leader Nicole Cantello signed a dissent letter attacking Lee Zeldin and the administration’s agenda and then REMOVED her name once scrutiny followed.
