Here's another big ol' owl that hangs out. The automatic sprinklers turned on one day while this one was chilling. Its response was hysterical. Wish it had a speech bubble over its head! 🤣 The white lines through the pics are a reflection of the window shades off the glass.

We have a new guest at our owl airbnb. They come and stay in the backyard on hot days because the grassy area is cooler than most other desert landscaping. Sometimes they spread their wings out to the side very wide to cool off. Amazing creatures...those eyes!

No, we don't feed them.

It's 7:25 pm & 108 degrees outside. My theory is that the grass is cooler than many of the other options around us, so they use it to cool themselves. It's also shady.

Did that a lot as a kid growing up in New England. Tap the trees, collect, and boil off the syrup. Very tasty!
