Ten years ago, the Supreme Court affirmed a simple proposition: every American should have the right to marry the person they love. As President, I was proud to sign the Respect for Marriage Act to protect that freedom in federal law.
Love is love. Right is right. Justice is justice.
One of the proudest moments of my presidency was making Juneteenth a federal holiday. It's a day of liberation. It’s a day of remembrance. And it’s a day of celebration. Today, it was an honor to be in Galveston where freedom rang out 160 years ago. https://t.co/C7mmVKEEGD
BREAKING: The court just confirmed what we all know — the military belongs on the battlefield, not on our city streets.
This win is not just for California, but the nation.
It’s a check on a man whose authoritarian tendencies are increasing by the day.
End the illegal militarization of Los Angeles now, @realDonaldTrump.
History is watching.
If Republican Medicaid cuts become law:
"Hospitals will close. Nursing homes will shut down. People will die. All to enact the largest tax break for billionaires in American history." @RepJeffries
Just read a copy of this silly book, and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class. The ones who rarely enter the arena, but profit from the spectacle of those that do. Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self promoting journalists out to make a quick buck. It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare.
All of this at the expense of a man so completely good and honest that it is impossible for these people to ever understand the why or how of it all. There are real stories to be told and one day they will be. I suspect history will reward the truth.
Together, we proved that we don’t have to choose between protecting the environment and growing the economy. We did both. This Earth Day, let’s remember that preserving what we cannot replace isn’t just an option – it’s our duty to future generations.
Fifteen years ago today, I stood with President Obama as he signed the Affordable Care Act into law. It was a big deal then and it still is today.
Under my administration, we focused on building on the successes of the ACA. I’m proud that we helped a record number of Americans sign up for marketplace coverage and significantly lowered the costs of prescription drugs and premiums.
I believe that health care is a right, not a privilege – and we should always protect it.
WOW! Did Trump really just release all of the same JFK files that Biden released in 2023?
On the left you have Biden's release.
On the right you have Trump's release today.
The only difference? The top of Biden's says "2023 Release" and Trump's says "2025 release" and the word "secret" is crossed out in Trump's release.
I haven't gone through every file but at least a huge portion of these are all the same files that Biden released.
The Trump administration has just removed a federal ban on contractors from having segregated restaurants, waiting rooms, and drinking fountains.
This is a result of Trump’s executive order to combat DEI.
Remember when we had a president who didn’t need to be the center of attention 24/7 and just got the job done?
Yeah, I miss @JoeBiden already. Anyone else? 🤷
Elon Musk seized control of our payment system—that's how your grandpa gets his Social Security check or how your mom’s doctor gets paid by Medicare.
The unelected billionaire wants the power to turn that on or off, for anyone.
No more business as usual. We need to fight back.
Just got off a call with Ken Martin to congratulate him on his victory.
I know he’ll help ensure Democrats continue to fight for working people and stand up to the abuse of power. Together, we will choose possibility over peril and empower more Americans to believe that the America of our dreams is closer than we think.
We just have to keep the faith and spread it.
I join Americans, Israelis, and people around the world in welcoming home Keith Siegel, an American held hostage by Hamas for 484 days, as part of the ceasefire deal my team and I negotiated. I look forward to the remaining hostages, including additional Americans, being reunited with their families soon.
I can only imagine the relief and joy that Keith’s family must be feeling today. For more than a year, my team and I met with his family, including his wife Aviva who was once a hostage herself. I was continuously inspired by their strength and resilience as they did everything in their power to ensure he was not forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with them and with all the families of the hostages today, all of whom have suffered so much.
Trump deliberately plunged the FAA into chaos as soon as he took office. Musk pushed out the FAA Administrator so the agency was leaderless, Trump fired the entire safety advisory board. He bullied staff to accept buyouts.
Not a surprise the tower was “not normal”.
Jill and I are praying for the families of the victims who tragically lost their lives in the plane and helicopter crash near DCA. We are immensely grateful to the brave first responders and emergency personnel on the scene.
Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch.
President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.
