Today, I spoke directly to the Nassau County Legislature in opposition to Bruce Blakeman’s irresponsible attempt to build an armed militia of untrained vigilantes.

I will always stand up for our law enforcement, and creating a safer and more secure Nassau County is a top priority.

But empowering untrained citizens to use their personal firearms in the event of an emergency does absolutely nothing to make our communities safer.
