Yes, exactly. Whether they were Presbyterian, atheist, theist, etc. is not important to me. What's important to me is liberty, and that's something that they also believed was the most important principle.

They believed that religion was personal to the individual, not something that should be codified in the bill of rights or controlled by the authorities.

They knew that many other religions existed and they also knew that excluding people for not practicing a specific religion would be detrimental to a free society.
