REST IN PEACE MARSHA
after all of these years, no one bothered to bring up William Dorsey Swann, an african-american born into slavery, who happened to be the first known person to self identify as the "queen-of-drag" in the united states and also lead a gay resistance group in the 1900s.
this pride month we honor Marsha P. Johnson, a black gay drag queen who led the stonewall uprising, created the STAR house to support homeless trans youth, spread awareness for AIDS, and was murdered in a hate crime. Her death was ruled a suicide.
So, use your voice and stand with us. Help us fight back. Show that trans people just want to be safe and be who we are. Show that we deserve love too! We deserve to use the bathrooms that we identify as safely
This is fucking terrifying. There is a link to the document from the White House, so I do believe this to be true. Transgender people are not dangerous. We just want to live and be who we are without fear of persecution or death. We do not have ties to Antifa or any other
happy pride month,
the US government is trying to identify and injury (supposedly kill) not just transgender people, but their supporters.
please, YOUR voice matters. help us.
Terrorist group. This is putting the lives of so many people in danger. Not only them, but their supporters as well. Please stay safe out there and remember that our voices matter. Not just trans voices. But allies as well
New York City Mayor, Zohran Mamdani says one month isn't enough to celebrate the impact of the LGBTQ community to the society:
"It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers. To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully."
No one is shoving anything down anyone’s throat. It’s a flag. No one is asking you to fly it. They’re just asking you, for one month, to not lose your shit every time you see it.
Gay men and women in this country have been beaten and killed. They’ve been shunned by their own family. They’ve been called “sick” and “disordered.” All because of who they love.
You can’t handle looking at a flag for 30 days?
Not only is June Pride Month but it’s also Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month
Real strength is being honest. Asking for help isn't a weakness, it's the bravest step you can take
Please check on your friends and reach out to those close to you if you need help
