I've never been able to get into Phantasy star Online 2, isn't it just Monster Hunter but in space and without the crazy cool transforming weapons and interesting fights and cleaner UI

At least that's how I felt when I played it ages ago.
Has much changed?

The entire star ocean series has been various level of bangers but noone talks about them really
