The Senate shouldn’t even *think* about taking a recess—not even for a weekend—until (1) SAVE America is passed, and (2) DHS is fully funded

Pass it on if you agree

[ThePersistence @ScottPresler]

Senate Majority Leader Thune,

I’m cognizant that I’ve been respectfully posting to you for 77 days. I’ve kept my language peaceful, cerebral, & focused on policy.

First, I wanted to thank you for bringing the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor for debate.

Second, please continue debate on the bill & do NOT invoke cloture on the SAVE America Act unless we have 60 votes.

Third, please consider continuing to work through the weekend &/or not recessing from March 30 - April 10.

If you made that decision & focused on reopening the Department of Homeland Security, you & your Republican caucus would be heroes to millions of Americans, as well as the unpaid TSA agents.

Furthermore, please know that we can be your greatest allies. We can be your bullhorn. We can be your peaceful ammunition. We can give you the support of millions of voices that desperately want election security.

The single most important piece of legislation we care about is the SAVE America Act — proof of citizenship & voter ID.

By the way, I’ll be in Rapid City & Sioux Falls this weekend — peacefully.

Look forward to hearing from you.

@LeaderJohnThune

Senate Democrats:

Stop lying about the SAVE America Act

And stop ignoring the text beginning on page 12 at line 22, which makes clear that it couldn’t be easier—or cheaper—to prove your citizenship if you can’t find your birth certificate or other documents

[ThePersistence @ScottPresler]

After 75 days, the Senate will finally debate on the SAVE America Act tomorrow.

Senate offices open @ 8 a.m. & we need phones ringing off the hook.

We also need everyone to make individual posts about the SAVE America Act to get it trending.

Prepare yourselves.

UPDATE ON THE SAVE AMERICA ACT - Amazing news!

Week of March 16: @LeaderJohnThune has announced he IS putting the #SAVE America Act on the floor AND he is not immediately moving for cloture - which would instantly kill the bill.

That WAS the original plan until @LeaderJohnThune ran into the buzzsaw of the American people going berserk about that idea.
And the determination of @realDonaldTrump to change that plan

This is what is NOW going to happen this week:

@LeaderJohnThune will move on Tuesday (tentatively) to consider the House message on #SaveAmericaAct and the Senate WILL start the consideration of the bill.

There will be a series of procedural motions (which are not describable in plain English), but which will get the bill to the floor for consideration.   None are cloture, and none will require 60 votes.

@LeaderJohnThune will fill the amendment tree.   There will be consideration of amendments. This will be similar to what is sometimes called vote-a-rama in the Senate

There is going to be debate - organized so @LeaderJohnThune maintains control of the floor.

All of this is a sea change from a week ago.  Or even since last Tuesday.

It is not a “talking filibuster” but it is ongoing debate and consideration.  The Senate may leave the bill and go to other matters and then return.   And that could happen more than once.

That’s about all I can say - senate procedures are arcane and hard to follow.

What is most important to know is this particular next phase is a win.   It is a BIG step.  It is a result of the people rising up and slamming the Senate last week.

We the people were so angry at @LeaderJohnThune after his remarks on Tuesday throwing in the towel without a fight, and there was such an avalanche of calls and social media posts MAINLY ON X, attacking @LeaderJohnThune Thune and the @SenateGOP that it really shook up the Senate leadership, penetrated their hard heads,  and they finally started listening.

That’s all thanks to YOU, the people of the country.

And is a testament also to @BasedMikeLee @chiproytx @ScottforFlorida @SenRonJohnson, Rob Borden who works for @BasedMikeLee plus several more stalwart Senators and House members committed to getting this bill passed- and it was especially a result of the amazing outpouring of public pressure on the Senators.

The battle we waged on X paid off and that is an historic achievement. Example:  @MarkMeadows started on Tuesday posting on X the names of the @SenateGOP senators committed to vote yes on the bill AND the talking filibuster.   And also the @SenateGOP members who have NOT.

@MarkMeadows posts on X received 21.8 MILLION views.   Read that again.   21.8 million views.

And people then stepped up and hammered the Senate, burning up Senators’ phone lines, emails, and X accounts, demanding passage of the SAVE America Act.

We now have to make sure the Senate stays on the bill long enough to refocus that same anger and angst  against the Dems.

They are, after all, our real opponents.

We have a lot of work to do in this next phase.  But we now know we can do it.

Call the @SenateGOP and tell them “Thank you! Stay on the #SaveAmericaAct for as long as it takes to PASS THE BILL. Cancel every recess, Stay in session and get this done!”

Call the @SenateDems and hammer them for opposing this VITAL bill. Tell @SenateDems to PASS THE #SAVEAmericaAct. To vote YES on the bill.

[phone]. Start calling on Monday. Find your Senator’s website. Email / call the state offices.

Our voices were heard….we have the chance now to make more history

This next phase is something that has not been seen or done in the US Senate in decades:   It’s called legislating.  Amazing.

Thanks to @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk for their leadership to pass #SAVEAmericaAct Without them, this would not be happening

Not passing the SAVE America Act isn’t an option

We need to start debating it on the Senate floor

And then keep debating it until it passes

[Gunther Eagleman™ @GuntherEagleman]

Dear @LeaderJohnThune,

Do you know how bad it will be if you don’t get the SAVE America Act passed when you bring the bill to the floor?

If you think it’s bad now, just wait until you purposely fail the bill by not allowing the talking filibuster.

Your days in the Senate will be numbered.

Sincerely,
85% of all Americans

IT'S GO TIME 🚨

House Republicans removed then Speaker Kevin McCarthy in (2023)

Democrats let (20M) people in here, and they're going to get them to the polls in Nov

It's time for the @SenateGOP to do what the house did to McCarthy and remove John Thune

This has to happen

Republicans have the Presidency, the Supreme Court, the House and the Senate. And yet…

We don’t have a Voter ID law.

Not a single crooked Democrat has been jailed, censured, impeached, or expelled.

Taxpayers are being defrauded by the billions.

And Republicans do NOTHING.
