@_asura_samraat_@dronabox@santosh_subr@pradip103 It's our great misfortune that we have to share a great country and the right to vote with the likes of those who have the IQ of a dining plate and the pattern recognition cognitive ability of a toddler with none of a toddler's love
@RupakChatto 1) children died from having poisoned piped water in triple engine sarkaar Indore not three months ago
2) while he's improved delivery in many welfare schemes, he's also fed and increases the social welfare system that you're railing against. Pls be for real
@VatsRishap As for extrapolations. There's that joke. "There are two types of people in the world. First, they extrapolate from incomplete data. And the second"
All I can say is that enough people seem to view the combination of events from a lens of frustration toward existing institutions
@VatsRishap You raise some valid points on the extent of conclusions drawn. But as I said, the ECI (esp with reports of CEC bypassing ECs, a constitutional misstep) and the SC (who should act in public interest considering the numbers) seem to be acting like guilty/reluctant parties
@VatsRishap For ex, in Goa participation in certain govt schemes requires having a voter card so being excluded from the rolls excludes eligibility in these too. This is present in other states as well.
@VatsRishap As you said, we can't go just by anecdotal/personal experiences. But considering the sheer number of exclusions across all states (incl elec ones), isn't it plausible and even likely that this is a far greater phenomenon? And there is a cost beyond vote to these things
@pragmatic_indi You'll find that not many oppose the necessity of roll clean up. It's the ham fisted way it was done and weaponized ahead of elections to kick out people on flimsy grounds as well that's caused the uproar. Not to mention numerous cases of 6-8 percent of voters counted after 6pm
@Deus_Ex_DeMo@VatsRishap That was indeed a very very messed up event. But a state with a history of every party in power (including your boys now) operating with hooligan fueled violence and welfare provision is not even in the same galaxy of a problem that not having free and fair elections is
@VatsRishap Idk to the extent ECI is guilty of malfeasance or mishandling. All I can say is that so far, they're acting like a guilty actor with somethin to hide (changing rolls from being machine readable, ever changing list of acceptable docs, CEC not even meeting ECs before decisions etc)
@Deus_Ex_DeMo@VatsRishap Yes, one has to raise objections over every issue under the sky that you consider primary before one can raise an entirely valid objection about not wanting to lose the right to vote. Go wring your hands at the sky and come back when you want a reasoned debate
@VatsRishap The courts' reluctance to speedily and adequately respond to those who lost their vote because of ECI moves? That block level officials who are trying to help voters are being cut out? If every face of the state is unwilling or unable to offer remediation, what do you expect?
@DearthOfSid I reckon INC is trying to do what BJP did with IAC. Which is to endorse the actions and use it to pressure GoI without sharing stage. 3 years on the anger created still translated into BJP wins. And unlike IAC case, LoP owns this issue as much if not more than CJP
