This season, the terrific trio of guards at @theacademybx that held their own in the @nycpsal.

@DenimTrotman, @Amir_cummings1 & @ryan_edwards_0, all of whom are seniors all held their own for the Eagles, who went 27-5, won their fifth consecutive @nycpsal Bronx Borough championship & their first @nycpsal city championship since 2007, and the first championship in the highest classification. The Eagles went on to finish at No. 2 in the @nysswa state rankings.

For their efforts, Cummings, who averaged 14.6 points per game, was named a first team All-State selection by the @nysswa, and Trotman, who averaged 16.6 points per game, was a second-team All-State selection. Edwards, who averaged 12.2 points per game after transferring from St. John’s Prep, where he won a CHSAA “A” city championship last season, was named a @nysswa All-State Honorable Mention selection.

At the @nateblue_ Showcase last month, the trio all showcased their talents and proved that they can potentially make an impact for a college program.

At the present time, all three are currently unsigned. Look out for them in the coming summer months, as they will be playing both AAU & also playing in plenty of the city’s finest streetball teams.

This weekend, the @UnsungYutes squad will be making their way to the @madehoops DMV Live event at the @baltimoreconve1 in Baltimore, Maryland.

They will be playing four games:

Saturday:

• U2 Elite, 2:15 PM (Court 1)
• D1SA, 4:40 PM (Court 1)

Sunday:

• CT Rebound, 9:30 AM (Court 5)
• Nova 94 Feet, 11:50 AM (Court 5)

The Yutes, based out of Mount Vernon, New York, will have some talented gems, including @hadi21__ & @DenimTrotman. College coaches, be on the lookout for this program this weekend. They are currently 4-1 in @madehoops competition.

On this date, there were plenty of talented young hoopers at the Humble Development Runs in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

One of those that stood out was none other than @DenimTrotman, whose videos you may be seeing on @tiktok_us or @instagram that have taken on a following on the East Coast.

But what many may not know is that his game isn’t all hype, there’s actually talent there.

This season, he averaged 16.6 points per game at @theacademybx & helped lead the Eagles to their fifth consecutive @nycpsal Bronx Borough championship, the @nycpsal AAAA championship, an overall record of 27-5 & a No. 2 ranking by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

For his efforts, the kid from the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem was a second-team All-State selection, courtesy of the @nysswa.

At the present time, he is still an unsigned senior and is looking for a school opportunity, whether it be prep school or a collegiate opportunity. Whatever school lands him, will be getting a solid player.

Look out for him this spring with Unsung Yutes at tournaments such as @Is8Nike & @HoopsShowdown and other grassroots events.

The new Class Crown, put together by @NikeNYC, has already released the All-City team.

On the boys side, the first team has two players from @step_basketball in @McDAAG selections @Jasiah_Jervis & @dratlif15, @theacademybx’s own @DenimTrotman, @HayesHoops1941’s @Malik7Fields & @EagleAcademyBK sophomore guard Lee Robinson.

The second team featured two more players from @step_basketball in @HassanKoureissi & @Adonisballin3, another @McDAAG selection. Other players selected were @_nazmbb’s A.J. Moody, @StFrancisPrep1’s @big_osacko & @StJohnsPrepNY’s Da’Quan “Soul Food” Bryant.

The Coach of the Year was none other than @EagleAcademyBK head coach Kevin Hamilton, Jr., who lead the Eagles to a 26-4 overall record, a @nycpsal Brooklyn borough championship & an appearance in the in the @nycpsal AAAA championship game. Eagle BK was also ranked at No. 3 in the @nysswa rankings.

Our hats go off to the boys from @theacademybx for their valiant effort against a top-15 team in the nation in Archbishop Stepinac yesterday at the Undisputed Championships at @LIUBrooklyn.

What many thought would be a blowout was indeed a game. Despite the Crusaders’ size advantage, the Eagles kept the game close and went to the fourth quarter only down by two.

This season, they defied the odds by winning their fifth consecutive @nycpsal Bronx Borough championship & their first @nycpsal city championship in the highest classification & first championship since 2007. They also went 27-5 and are rated at No. 2 in New York State.
