@AmNineOClock @USAOWTC I agree. He could have gone on to be very fulfilled healing people and maybe something would have happened with Briseis, even if it was just them being besties and supporting each other in life. Achilles completely shut down because he spent his life shutting people out.
@USAOWTC I trusted you. And you have hurt me.
But at least they finally got to be together, even in the awful place that is the underworld.
And Odysseus might almost kind of be decent in the end.

So Agamemnon’s daughter being sacrificed to appease the gods... it bears a resemblance to Abraham and Isaac that had my head spinning. #WTCSong2@USAOWTC
I’m kind of really unsure who to trust in this story. Patroclus is so very human that his perspective doesn’t seem entirely trustworthy, and that makes me nervous. @USAOWTC#WTCSong1
@jamesha97538348 @USAOWTC I agree. I see this in my own life, obviously not slavery, but other ways that I was trained to think and accept as normal. It’s hard to break free of those things, especially if you don’t have a reason.
@HinkleTiffani @USAOWTC I relate! I’ve never been a gamer and tend to think they’re a waste of time, kind of a mindless activity. But it really takes skill to be good at them and they’re an immersive experience like no other.
I would never have thought of applying economic theory to video games (probably because I’m not a gamer) so I thought the appendix entry in this was really cool! I liked the comparison of real life economics vs. video game economics. @USAOWTC#WTCVid
Home and Dwelling talks about Dana losing part of her body after expelling the Other from it.... and that makes it sound like the Exorcist or something. @USAOWTC#WTCKin3
So uh.... I’m the weirdo that really liked Kevin... *hides*
There was always a sense of comfort and security when he was around, so it struck me really hard when they got home and he had changed so much. I was unprepared even with the foreshadowing. @USAOWTC#WTCKin2
@brandon13832118 I agree! I think because of the writing style, no matter who you are, it grabs your attention in such a way that you become a woman of color trying to survive 1976 and 1815.
I can’t put this book down. What makes it so incredible is that it isn’t told from a perspective of normalcy, like many historical or fictional accounts, it feels real because it’s a 20th century woman thrust into this situation and trying to survive. @USAOWTC#WTCKin1
The author says that a civilization that colonizes condones force is already morally diseased. I’ve never considered this, and it is definitely an interesting concept to think about. @USAOWTC#WTCCes
My favorite part was Keynes wanting economists to be as well respected as dentists. Not a huge fan of dentists, so I found it amusing. @USAOWTC#WTCKeynes
