I have heard the song “MacArthur” 6 or so times and the other day I was listening to it and this verse finally caught my attention. It was a father saying it about his son in regards to selling the family’s generational land:

“Didn't wanna go to work, just wanted me to die”

That hits hard. Maybe the son didn’t literally want his father to die as much as he communicated he was more interested in personal gain over a relationship with his father or ancestry. But nonetheless.

In the end, the son decided against it (I think), but it makes me wonder how many you g(er) people have this attitude towards their parents. Very few, I pray. But for the ones there are…I also pray for them to appreciate the blessings in their lives. And love their parents for the time they have left with them.

This will piss some people off, and I don't care:

The reason for the burgeoning popularity of AI is twofold:

1. Most people are inherently lazy
2. AI isn't "smart", it's just that most people are dumber than AI.

For the second point, this is also why companies are rushing to AI. The bar for performance has moved so low, unmitigated crap has become the standard. Therefore, anything that rises even slightly above this bar is now heralded as a Godsend.

This is also why companies don't really care about the stupidity of H1-B hires. They're not worse; they're just a cheaper lateral move.

AI isn't going to replace skilled, intelligent workers.

Just all the workers lazier and dumber than it.

And, sadly, that's quite a few.

It isn't.

Jesus told this parable to show us what God is actually like.

And the portrait He paints of the father is so scandalous, so undignified, that it offended every person in His audience.

It should offend us, too.
