This would make an excellent political platform. The @DNC should take it onboard as a set of attainable and positive goals for reforming America to be "Of the people and for the people."

Want to hold CONGRESS ACCOUNTABLE? Here's how!
Take 12 Principles of FAIRism & put them in front of local politicians and press.
If you disagree, let me known what you think.
They need to be next "Peoples Bill of Rights."
Help pass them as Amendments to US Constitution.

I couldn't agree more with @JacyGomez. During the four years I spent at the Univ of Dubuque I knew many Iowans and none of them were anything like Steve King.
Steve King does not represent Iowa's values @CNN https://t.co/VcNBY06PQk
@20Fathoms Never made it to Bologna. However, I had wonderful culinary experiences in La Maddalena (Sardinia), Gaeta, Naples and Catania (Sicily). Both the food and wine in those cities were superb. The fruits, vegetables and wines from the Mt Etna area are uniquely flavorful.
#NationalPastaDay brings back memories of almost ten years being stationed in Italy. My first pasta dish while in Italy (enjoyed in La Maddelena, Italy) was spaghetti a la vongole. Most unique was spaghetti & tuna. My favorite pasta dish will always be linguini carbonara. Yum!
I just voted for Lord of the Rings, but could easily have voted for Clan of the Cave Bear (the book that sparked my passion for paleolithic and neolithic anthropology and archeology), The Martian, Catch-22, Foundation, Sidhartha and many others.

To my followers: I've become burnt out and will be less active for a while. I hope you'll understand and not desert me. I'll be lurking and will become active again as soon as I can. Thank you.
@dabears Please burn or otherwise destroy those horrible, unlucky orange jerseys. There is never a good outcome whenever they are worn in a game. Stop wearing them!!

@PayingAttn2018 @traci_wicker @RosyM97 @DNC@lakehermit2 Good points. In Australia, eligible voters are required to vote. It's too bad we can't get to that point in the US. Also, the two-party system should be expanded. It's too bad we don't have four or five viable parties forcing coalitions rather than settling for 1 of 2 in power.
This would make an excellent political platform. The @DNC should take it onboard as a set of attainable and positive goals for reforming America to be "Of the people and for the people."

@RosyM97 @traci_wicker@DNC@lakehermit2 @PayingAttn2018 Agreed. The problem is the political parties. They'll keep sticking with the person who can give them a win unless their forced. That's why we still have the Grassleys & Hatchs 30 odd years on. Regular turnover should be part of the system or the system will continue to suffer.
@RosyM97 @traci_wicker@DNC@lakehermit2 Interesting article. I don't totally disagree, but I'm also not totally convinced. I might agree to longer limits, but still strongly feel that term limits should exist. Term limits were imposed, for good reason, on presidents & those same reasons can also be applied to congress.
@lakehermit2 Because, like their salaries, they vote it for themselves. It's a much better gig than actually working for a living where someone else decides on your pay and benefits.
@lakehermit2 You're welcome.
You asked me back in August how to spread the word. So far, the best solution I've found is to pin that tweet so that everyone who visits me can see it. The more people who see it, the more the word spreads.
@JoyceWhiteVance@irreverentmama That's the very reason I believe that there is a difference between 'constituency' and 'electorate.' The electorate is that large group of people whose votes elect an office-holder. The constituency, OTOH, is that smaller group of people the office-holder actually represents.
@OhNoSheTwitnt@BeSeriousUSA It sort of reminds me of a guy by the name of Adolph (not Menjou) who was well-known in the 1930's and 1940's. The parallels are surprising. "It's like deja vu all over again." (Yogi Berra)
@confunctionist I agree. It makes an excellent campaign slogan. The Democrats should start using it. Let's make #HoldTrumpAccountable trend on social media.
