People need to understand that Sir started giving people cars a long, long time ago, even before he became the biggest businessman he is today. But people who don’t know him think this is something new. No, no.

We used to call him B.I.G at Ximex Mall around 2002/2003, somewhere around there. He gave another guy called Patrick Chibhanzi a BMW — I can’t really remember if it was an X5 model or not. In front of everyone, Sir just came and asked him, “How much do you have in your pocket right now?” Patrick had only a little bit of money, which was nowhere near the value of the car. I can’t remember the exact amount, but after he told him how much he had, he was given the car just like that.

The truth is, people don’t really know Sir Wicknell. He is just like that — he has a heart of giving, and he is also a very intelligent and streetwise person. To some of us who know him, we used to call him B.I.G.

So guys, instead of hating, let’s celebrate how he is changing lives in Zimbabwe.

This is inhumane

I want Africa to know that there is a one-year-old child in a Zimbabwean prison.
This child has been in prison for over a month since June 16!
Her mother was arrested on June 16 while she was part of a group of opposition supporters commemorating June 16 Youth Day.

It is winter in Zimbabwe, and prisoners sleep on the floor.
It is inhumane to subject a child to such cruelty simply because her mother is opposed to your political views!

To think that a one-year-old child is being subjected to such inhumane conditions due to her mother's political beliefs is an utter injustice.
No child should ever be punished for the perceived sins of their parents, and yet that's exactly what is happening here in Zimbabwe.

The fact that this is taking place during winter only compounds the suffering of both mother and child and the 74 other activists arrested with her.

How can we call ourselves human when we allow such atrocities to happen in the name of politics?

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our dear friend and former footballer, Norman Maroto. He was a talented player and a wonderful person, and his presence will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace. Norman will always be remembered fondly in our hearts.
