@andykristian This is not a disease, my friend. In fact, it is the furthest and farthest thing away from disease. This is a symptom. Of the underlying structure. Of the culture. And of course, on misreading the gauge to think E means Enough.
@TimKalyegira@Comrade_Otoa Dr. Mills is South African. And he has worked extensively with African leaders; published papers alongside some like Nigeria’s Obasanjo. He knows what he is talking about. However, there’s a chance that he also writes as Niccolo Machiavelli did: to whisper, to cajole, to seduce.
@Comrade_Otoa I can assure you that Dr. Mills writes this book from a good place; a place of honor. However, I urge you to look beyond leadership; towards institutions & innovation (Nobel prizes for 2024 & 2025). And NO. In such a globalized world, Africa must not ‘sort’ this ‘mess’ alone.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Again with the ad hominem attacks when you know—in that heart of yours—that there’s a chance that you may have been inaccurate. I will go away. But when we meet in person, you know I’ll have nothing but respect for you. Cause you’re older. And you’re a man of the cloth.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira I doubt that colleagues—including yourself from 1997 to 2000—contemporaries, students, or fellow academics would describe me as dull, naive or gullible. But you’re entitled to your assessment. Doesn’t change the fact that your original post was inaccurate.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Martin, I am not pretending to be learned. And I am not even saying I know YOUR subject. I am just pointing out that memorandums are not executive orders. And you don’t have empirical evidence that this ‘order’ caused the specific sexual change you illustrated.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Thank you, Teacher. But if I may point out something, ‘combat’ also means counter. Basically, not necessarily in the offensive but in the defensive. More importantly, an Executive Order has legality to it while the Memorandum is more parsimonious.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Yiiii — But Martin: aren’t we only a few years apart in age!? And gullible? Eh, Pastor? When did that start happening? Like I cannot read or know the impact of a U.S. President’s proclamations?
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira ‘… This memorandum is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.’
@martinssempa@Mark34522987202@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Martin, I will go away with these parting words: I’ve known you for almost 30 years, and YOU know for a FACT that I am neither proud nor an idiot. And your book—which I read—may not be peer reviewed but is an acceptable compendium. My point is just be factual. Facts matter. Bye.
@Mark34522987202@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Martin may know much more than me on this subject. And he probably does. But he is neither entitled to his own set of facts nor to misleading claims. He singled out a U.S. President for an Executive Order that was, in fact, a Proclamation which is a different thing altogether.
@martinssempa@charliekirk11@BarackObama@TimKalyegira Lastly, I bought and read your book because we’ve known each other since I was your first producer on Spectrum in 1997. Your book does not present evidence of an Obama Executive Order. And if I was to be nitpicky, Obama was NOT President in 2019.
