Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz’s New Mummy Movie Will ‘Push PG-13 Boundaries’

Radio Silence Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett exclusively chat with us The Mummy 4 and revisiting the stars' “lovely chemistry.”

“We want to push that PG-13 rating, because that’s how the first movie was for us,” Gillett smiles. “It had all of the fun action-adventure flavors but it also wasn’t afraid to be scary and cut away right at the nick of time. So bringing our genre sensibility into that has already been just really fun. There’s a level of magic and mythology that has created a lot of opportunities to do fun things.”

Congrats to Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another picking up #CriticsChoiceAwards for Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay. Last year Leonardo DiCaprio explained to us how his father remains an influence on picking roles, including this film:

"My father, he’s kind of the ultimate source of wisdom for me, and not just his intelligence, but his perception and his ability to look at a certain subject matter through different lenses. I oftentimes still read scripts with him and ask him his thoughts, because he’s got such a unique perspective.”
