@VishalBhargava5 I like how he's projected as a lone-warrior fighting the system, but there's enough in the public domain to show he's cajoled and propped up by a rich ecosystem of legacy influencers.
No point arguing now, time will tell.
@virsanghvi it doesn't take rocket science to see a shift in discourse among popular media handles. then of course there's the curious case of spontaneous protests.
The discourse is very much happening, reaching ordinary people. But people have their own sense of manufactured vs real.
@VishnuNDTV Will heavens fall if we wait a couple of weeks for the truth to be reported?
What is this obsession with live news?
I'd rather have accurate news than this legal tiptoeing with "reportedly failed" or "reports say". That's where the faith in news media is lost.
@smitadeshmukh You're also discounting the fact that hundreds of families are displaced by redevelopment, so BLOs are at your original residence which has been demolished.
@smitadeshmukh I'm all for congratulating systems that work well, but the SIR process is not one that works in Mumbai. Your process was smooth because your mobile number was already linked. Seen Form 8 process?
Spelling variations from the Marathi-English conversation are also frustrating.
@AshwiniBhide If my name is struck off the list, is there an appeals process for relief?
If so, the appeals process to restore my name will be done in a time-bound manner to protect my statutory rights?
Then I can do the appeals process only and skip the current madness?
SIR enrollment in Mumbai is broken, the scale is grossly underestimated. Add to this, the ongoing redevelopment saga, where the house BLO visits has residents from another part of the city.
Political party workers happy to take all your info, promising to enroll you smoothly.
@KiritSomaiya If the process to enroll is tedious, phone nos are not linked to ECI online, I'll just go through the process for appealing when my name is struck off.
Why entroll?
@ActusDei If investment advisors keep recommending a new thing every few years (started with ULIP long ago, then MFs/SIPs, ELSS, gold ETF, now US eq), the average investor will see this as the advisor trying to justify their existence using FOMO, earning fees (detached from performance).
@suchetadalal@MoneylifeF the real curve ball for senior citizens here is the massive redevelopment happening in across Mumbai, so although people are permanent residents of one locality, they have likely relocated to rentals in another part of town.
@SoumitriD@ShivAroor@milinddeora The Mayor isn't some whiter than white individual. The story is the same. This is just a new carve out, another power trip.
@ShivAroor@milinddeora Pre-monsoon, the municipal corporation has annually decorated concrete roads of Mumbai with sewage waste for weeks, and left it lying there to bake before the rains wash it all down back again.
Pray for inaction instead. That, at least, will put a freeze on contracts awarded.
@ShivAroor@milinddeora uhhh, please don't empower BMC, MMRDA, or the Mayor any more than they are. Folks do know the Mayor's name in Mumbai - and that has more to do with the flyover she inaugurated and later certified as fault-free.
Not sure what is brewing behind the scenes with all this attention.
@1ndus@nikesharora It's probably hamstrung by a barrage of EU policy documents that are so subtly contradictory, so now it's being fine-tuned to serve a niche - EU policy makers who look to sue or fine any business that makes a buck.
