Extremely disappointed with the experience with Air India express on 21/11/2025.
We had a confirmed Air India Express booking (BOM → GOI), 12:00 PM flight, booked 5–6 months ago.
We reached the airport at 10:00 AM...
All of this while I am 6 months pregnant and waiting with the luggage while my husband tries to fight for our spot, amongst 10 other wronged passengers.
Air india express staff, Mitali was asked by the priority assistance counter to check us in due to a "glitch" in the system. She kept trying for us from 10:45 am till she closed the boarding without even informing. There was also no 'last call' announcement for this flight.
We tried amicably getting a solution through email-ing them but they replied saying we were 'late' for check-in which is an outright lie and another excuse to not own up to their overbooking strategy. We have proof of reaching on time thanks to the Uber receipt to the airport..
The second flight was booked for 5:50 pm same day and had a delay of almost 2 hours. We ended up reaching out destination 7-8hours late, physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. We expect compensation for involuntary denied boarding, reimbursement of all costs,
I couldn't use the restroom also for 3 hours and after all the distress, they conveniently said but we'll get you on another flight. We were late for our trip and had to cancel our following car and hotel bookings.
but the check-in staff closed the counter without any final call, update, or announcement, even while telling us “we’re trying.”
Finally, we were denied boarding with nothing more than a “sorry.”
This is unacceptable — especially for a pregnant passenger..
...given a new excuse — “overbooked,” “fuel issue,” “system issue” — but no clear explanation why we couldn’t board a flight we paid for months in advance.
There were at least 15 other passengers facing the same issue. The flight manager tried to help...
Since I’m pregnant, I was asked to go through the special assistance desk. We were told there was a ���glitch” in the check-in system and that we’d be called in 15 mins. No call, no update, no announcement.
