@Shapalicious They are building a 4 billion dollar stadium. Season tickets are an incredible asset, the Broncos can either let the ticket holders extract the value from those seats, or they can take the value themselves. There is no selfless option, the seats will cost what people will pay.

@Shapalicious He blocked me for saying this, but every season ticket holder seems to feel they are entitled to their seats forever for no other reason than their parents/grandparents bought tickets years ago. He has been gifted the right to purchase those seats under market value for years.

@jamesmerilatt Season tickets are not a birthright. At a bare minimum 25,000 seats are for sale every game, all from "true fans" who use them to make a profit. The market says the tickets are worth more, the Broncos can take that profit, or fans who parents bought tickets 60 years ago can.

I understand this is "progress" but no one would be lauding the Broncos for going from 3-14 to 5-12. "feeling bad" for people missing out on this is insane.

@mnolangray I think you are mostly right, but you should look at what the Broncos are doing in Denver. They are going to great expense to keep it in town as opposed to the suburbs. Mixed use, in town, creating their own density as part of the project, etc.

@NBABlackburn I don't think Watson wants to be here, and I think the Nuggets have known that all along. They can play hardball to a point, but if a Klutch client wants out, you find a way to make that happen and get as much compensation as you can.

@judgeglock In the senate/house you are voting for a group to be in charge, so morally defensible to choose a Platner/Gaetz type, there is only so they can do individually. At the executive level it doesn't feel morally defensible. Too much power to give to someone who is immoral/corrupt.

@nickgerli1 We really overcomplicate all of this. People are moving to where they can afford to live. That was the Sunbelt, now it's the Midwest. Expensive markets were reasonably attainable at lower interest rates but became prohibitively expensive when interest rates went up.

@mattyglesias I think Democrats can tie cost of living issues to climate pretty easily. Insurance, infrastructure and grid upgrades required because of climate change, crop issues, water scarcity, etc. I think that is both true and the best climate narrative going forward.
