George Broussard says he has heard from an internal source that Xbox could close several studios and will be like “the meteor that took out the dinosaurs.”

He isn’t sharing the names but says the information came from someone inside the company.

Broussard said that if the information is true, it could be the biggest round of layoffs the gaming industry has ever seen. He also claims that even the studios that stay open will face layoffs.

“If it’s even close to true (and it’s from inside), this will likely be the largest single layoff event in gaming history.”

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says Steam is missing out on millions of PC players because it doesn’t have games like Fortnite, Riot Games titles, or Genshin Impact.

Sweeney said Valve has “a nice thing going on on PC,” but added that Steam is “missing out on a lot of opportunity” by not having those games available on the platform.

Sweeney also said Epic wants to work with Valve in the future, explaining, “We would love to interoperate with every company willing and to connect all the gamers.”
