Imagine if you were better paid for doing the job you love
It is possible to be a self employed carer and here's how...

I bet he will.
He promised “40 new hospitals” to get elected - but they were 6 upgrades of old hospitals.
He swore he had a plan to fix social care in 2019 - but didn’t.
He clapped us - but allowed 880 of us die.
Why on earth should we believe him now? https://t.co/24Hk8OiSK9
"Transforming #socialcare must be treated as an economic priority, because the sector is as much a part of the economic infrastructure as roads and railways," says Baroness @GlenysThornton in the @UKHouseofLords.
A joint call for the right social care reform, with the @socfuture vision at its heart, to be brought forward urgently. “National Adult Social Care Strategic Partners: Our response to 2021 Queen’s Speech” https://t.co/JTKsAxhDTa
A reminder that the “free at the point of need” NHS principle is even *more* relevant to social care than health care.
And it’s not that we don’t have the solution, it’s that we’ve got politicians too cowardly to implement it.

So @socfuture has developed a vision & narrative, combining the work of our movement with public audience research and strategic communications expertise. It shifts mindsets and builds public support for change. But what does implementing it mean? Some thoughts...
@JackiesRev2 I had the privilege and pleasure talking to Jackie today. A mover and shaker in the care sector, watch this space. Vive Jackie's Revolution! #carecrisis#onamission#selfemployedcarers https://t.co/uHJLxLd3Dx
@NAOorguk@DHSCgovuk Chronic underfunding and lack of strategy has left our most vulnerable at risk. Frontline care workers are not paid enough and therefore we don't attract enough people into care to help solve the problem. #onamission
@DHSCgovuk There are likely to be large increases in demand for care in the future.
Despite years of papers, consultations and reviews, there remains no long-term plan for care.
Reforming the sector will be a significant challenge, requiring a cross-government approach. (3/3)
Short-term funding and the lack of a long-term vision has hampered planning, innovation and investment in adult social care.
Current arrangements are ineffective for overseeing the care market.

@DHSCgovuk has increased its focus on adult social care due to #COVID19.
But it does not have a clear strategy to develop accommodation for adults with care needs.
It is also yet to tackle recruitment and retention challenges for the 1.5 million people who work in care. (2/3)
Our latest report found current arrangements are ineffective for overseeing the adult social care market.
NAO Director @aaileenm will discuss our report at next week’s Adult Social Care Conference.

Following the recent regressive & deeply concerning Supreme Court judgement for care workers in our country, please see below my statement concerning arrangements in Salford...
Urgent progress needs to be made by the government to resolve the funding crisis in social care!👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
@salford_mayor Thank You @salford_mayor careworkers who cannot be at home are by definition at work, asleep or otherwise. They pay for childcare and are away from their families. It seems to be a financial decision to protect businesses rather than frontline workers. Carers deserve better.
Has anyone else noticed there is very little care training out there directed at individual self employed carers. Most courses are aimed at those working for an agency or care home. They often talk about policies and procedures and reporting things to your manager? #onamission
Many thanks to the hundreds of thousands of #homecare workers who will be out early tomorrow morning providing invaluable care and support to older and disabled people across the UK. #HappyNewYear to you all!
THREE LUCKY WINNERS - one more day to enter!!!!
I'd like to help you through your journey in becoming a self employed carer.
