@MrJohnNicolson @talkRADIO They are so brave. I learned during the anti poll tax poindings and anti nuclear demos exactly where I stood in relation to the UK. It's educational.
Can this be right? Germanyโs Test & Trace cost ยฃ50 million and works; U.K. cost ยฃ22,000 million and doesnโt work.
I must have missed some noughts!
@andyhemsted@DrKynast @thesundaytimes Yes, Britain is the Island we live upon, but Scots are also Picts, Norse, Angles, Jutes, etc etc historically, & now much, much more, we are an ethnically diverse Nation. But if you want to lay absolute blame for colonialism on us - I say - cui bono?
@OCallaghanRedux @DougChapmanSNP I am in agreement with you, I feel Scottish first, then British, then European. But in so much as Britain is the beautiful Island upon which we live. This UK thing is something else, here in the Highlands it has very bad historic associations.
@OCallaghanRedux @DougChapmanSNP Would you then concede that the decision should be made by those most likely to bear any consequent burden? ie those who live in Scotland?
@George_McKinlay@AngusRobertson@volkskrant @Ianblackford_MP Thank you. The voices in my head are, for now at least, silenced. Please leave the madness of the Twittersphere now and revel in the joys of family and a shared cultural heritage. Here's tae ye.
Were you aware that Johnson had his school fees paid by the EU - including Eton?
Dad was a European Commission official and because he was working โabroadโ the school fees were paid.
@George_McKinlay@AngusRobertson@volkskrant @Ianblackford_MP Why do you say I was born in Scotland and live in Scotland? Why not just say "I am Scottish!" Go on say it out loud. You might even like the feeling.
@George_McKinlay@AngusRobertson@volkskrant @Ianblackford_MP Your country is neck deep in shit. If you want to make a better world look to your own doorstep first. Ours might be better than you know.
@George_McKinlay@AngusRobertson@volkskrant @Ianblackford_MP 'Describes her as' yes. Erroneously, but certainly not 'says she is'. The point of the retweet, I assume; is to show that this is an interesting issue internationally. Had the main thrust of the article been a discussion of nationalism that might have elicited a different reply.
@George_McKinlay@AngusRobertson@volkskrant @Ianblackford_MP It's a retweet. I don't see any opinion of his expressed either way. On the content or on the semantics. He may or may not agree with all or any of the content. 'Promote' is not right in this context. Are you 'promoting' EVERYTHING in everything you have ever retweeted...?
