On this day in 1794, the French Revolution guillotined sixteen Carmelite nuns for being nuns
They walked to the scaffold singing the Veni Creator Spiritus.
Each one renewed her vows before mounting the guillotine. The prioress, Mother Teresa of St Augustine, went last. She waited until every sister was dead before she knelt
Robespierre was arrested ten days later. The Terror ended almost immediately after.
The nuns were canonised in 1906.
The ideology that killed them is now taught in your local parish church.
People in America catch a paid Climate Change Activist in process of starting Climate Change.
Politicians & Legacy Media then tell you, you can fix this - by simply paying more taxes.
People will often tell you that when raising children, “the days are long but the years are short.”
You may find the days are long and the years are long in a strange and benevolent way, however.
You may find you have a six year old and you do not fully remember your days before she was born. You may not mind this loss of memory, this stretching and distortion of time, this lengthening. You may feel as though entire lifetimes have passed. This too, is true.
You are not alone, you father, you mother, you now timeless person who has lived decades in years.
@FlanaganOnFaith It's great advice to improve your station in life. But, I think there is a lot of good in knocking doors and getting involved in politics. We can't give up, it matters too much. What you did was definitely not a waste of time.
This has nothing to do with climate change btw.
It's caused entirely by poor forestry management, a failure to maintain fire fighting infrastructure while sending billions in foreign aid to the third world, and inevitably deranged activist arsonists.
A gay couple in Canada is suing their surrogate mother for not getting an abortion after an ultrasound showed the child might have a slight deformity like a cleft lip.
My kid brother has a cleft lip, and he served 23 years in the army before retiring as a lieutenant colonel. If you think ending a life over something like that is up for debate, then we have nothing else to talk about.
Children should NEVER be up for sale.
@catholic_comedy Sounds like most of your problems would be better if you just had her quit all social media. Send him Christmas and birthday cards. Forgive past wrongs. Pray he does better.
It’s so funny that libtards will post this and it doesn’t make them suspicious at all. It never occurs to them that scientists lie. Doctors lie. They do it all the time. Even after COVID and fauci and all that it still never occurs to them.
The Canadian wild fires have been started again, it causes such a strange effect on everyone's nerves. I think it caused this sore throat. I think it's time to take over Canada and put someone in charge that can manage the forests.
I'm starting to think her husband hijacks her account to make strange posts that leave everybody scratching their heads and then has a good guffaw. (She doesn't notice because she's too busy with the cute little baby). It suddenly makes sense.
Literacy was the default for most families, not home education -- however even before that, children were raised by the tribe/ village/ community. Insular parenting where mother does everything is a fairly modern concept, and more of a manufactured product, just like formula
@KeturahAbigail I am 100% responsible for my child and my husband and I will do 100% of the raising. I have 9 kids 2 graduated, at what point does homeschooling become "too much"? It's not so hard if you keep up with it and very natural, much more so than cooping them all day doing busy work.
@goinggodward There was a monk who asked his guardian angel who in the towns was the closest person to God. The angel said it was a poor, unknown housewife who just did her duty to her family. He figured it would be one of the monks, priests etc. but the angel said it was her.
