Great to have so many visitors to #tidemillgarden yesterday - we’re open again today 1-6pm. Come and see film, bookworks and installation and enjoy the beautiful garden that #Lewisham wants to demolish! Venue 28 @Deptfordx#deptfordx
@LewishamCouncil@Joe_Dromey@SHAPESLewisham This has to be one of the most creative, radical and inclusive spaces in Deptford yet @LewishamCouncil are so short sighted, unimaginative and not community minded they can't see it's beauty and value as a genuine community asset.
#Lewisham didn’t care about the #anchor. They don’t care about #Deptford. Just like the last ‘slum’ clearances in the 60s, they can’t wait to demolish everything, no matter the cost to the ratepayer, and certainly not to the people who already live here. Total disrespect!
@SophieMcGeevor @vidiomole@LewishamCouncil The garden has been a community resource for 20 years, regardless of whether you consider it ‘public’. School grounds are an essential community asset, especially when the resource is used by surrounding schools for environmental education. New Tidemill school has NO green space!
@PaulBell1971 Fight it then! You’ve just joined the Tories, following through on every Tory policy until all Housing is completely privatised and in the hands of private equity. That’s what you just voted for at #tidemill#deptford Stop listening to Council Officers! Wake up and catch up!
@phoenixtogether@PaulBell1971 Unfortunately no democracy in action anywhere else in #Lewisham, especially in #deptford#tidemill. U said you’d bury the application. U stood for Mayor to abolish the Mayoral system. Now you’re just following whatever Council Officers say! Care to comment on your hypocrisy?
@SophieMcGeevor @vidiomole@LewishamCouncil By the GLA’s own London Plan definition, Shared Ownership is NOT social housing. Mix of tenure should be 60% Affordable & 40% Intermediate Rent or sale. Developer Agreement includes Amersham Vale & across both sites it is only 39% ‘affordable’ and 61% intermediate Rent or sale!
@SophieMcGeevor @vidiomole@LewishamCouncil It’s a lie to include Shared Ownership in Affordable figures. There is only 50% affordable. Development Agreement with Peabody includes Amersham Vale and across both sites only 39% social housing (so called ‘affordable’).
@oldtidemillgrdn@GoldsmithsUCU Goldsmiths are "stakeholders" as halls of residence built less than 20 years ago will be demolished as part of the Achilles Street proposals & replaced with new halls as part of Lewisham council gentrification/ social cleansing plans for the Achilles Strret area

@SophieMcGeevor @vidiomole@LewishamCouncil It’s a lie to say it’s a net gain. You’re including green space in the corner of Reginald Road that already exists but is not part of the 2400sqft of the Wildlife Garden. The replacement for the garden is much much less!
