🎶 Planning to attend Fleadh 2026? A range of accessible travel arrangements and facilities will be in place to help everyone enjoy the event. 🎶

Public transport will run as normal throughout the Fleadh, although some bus stops and pick-up points near the event area may change slightly during the busiest periods, especially over both weekends. Any changes will be clearly signposted.

If you’re travelling by bus or train, please check the Translink website or Journey Planner app before setting off, as services are expected to be busier than usual. Allow extra time for your journey.

Accessible travel support will include:

🔵 Blue Badge parking at Dunbar Street, outside Common Market, and Winetavern Street/Smithfield Market, behind CastleCourt

🔵 A free fully accessible loop shuttle bus around Belfast city centre for people with mobility needs

🔵 Additional accessible toilets and Changing Places facilities

🔵 Sign interpretation and captioning at selected events

🔵 Seated rest areas, quiet spaces and kerb ramps across the event area

There will also be a drop-in Accessibility Hub at CastleCourt, Unit 59, 1st Floor, open daily from Sunday 2 August to Sunday 9 August, 11am to 7pm.

A limited number of free tickets are also available for the accessible viewing area at the opening and closing ceremonies at the Gig Rig through the Fleadh Cheoil website. This accessible space will be free and unticketed during the rest of Fleadh week.

This follows a public consultation on the changes designed to support the uptake of zero emission goods vehicles (ZEGVs) here.

🏍️ 🚶🏽🚵🏽 Drivers are being urged to make this summer, and every day, safer for everyone on our roads by considering those who need it most, like pedestrians, motorcyclists, and cyclists.

Motorcyclists are particularly at risk, as they are harder to see than car drivers. Just under half of the most serious and fatal collisions with motorcyclists happen at junctions.

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: “One of the biggest causes of collisions involving motorcyclists is drivers emerging from junctions, particularly turning right. When emerging from minor roads or private roads, always check for vulnerable road users such as cyclists and motorcyclists.

“They might be harder to see, so look again. Be sure to look around those door and window pillars as they can easily hide your view of a rider."

Accessible parking bays are there to support people who need them most.

They are reserved for Blue Badge holders and help people with mobility challenges access shops, services and essential facilities.

Even stopping “just for a minute” can prevent someone else from parking safely and getting where they need to be.

Accessible Bay Enforcement is constant, and in 2025/26, the Department issued 7,265 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).

👉 If you don’t need the space, leave it for someone who does.

A @transportgovuk workplace charging scheme grants are now open that provides support for organisations and educational institutions support towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle charge point sockets at their sites.

The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:£500
