Dear Ndi Igbo bu Igbo,
Please, I beg you with the pride and arrogance of Igbos, whenever you see some Ikwerre, Ika, Igbanke, or any other Igbo-speaking people say they are not Igbos either on social media or in real life, agree with them absolutely. It gets them very mad, as seen in the quoted tweet.
They want to feel important by denying their Igboness. The process of you trying to tell them how they are Igbo is the best feeling in the world for them.
Don’t ask them, “what of your name, your market days?” No fall my hand, abeg!
Henceforth, agree with them totally without any shred of argument and see how disappointed and angry they would be.
Igbos are the most intelligent Black race in the world.
The richest Black race, and by God, Igbo never reach people wey dey beg to be Igbos.
Let’s end that argument and take pride in our Igboness.
What kind of country is this

Extrajudicial Killing in Effurun
The extrajudicial killing of a young Nigerian Mr. Mene Ogidi, in Effurun, Delta State, by a police officer, is not only barbaric but also a grave violation of the rule of law.
Over time, human society has moved away from an era when lives could be taken without consequence. Through the evolution of civilisation, a fundamental principle has emerged: no one should be punished or deprived of life without due process and a fair determination of guilt.
Such acts inflict unimaginable trauma on the bereaved family and deepen public anxiety in an already distressed society. Nigerians are already traumatised by recurring reports of brutal killings by terror organisations across the country, and incidents of this nature - especially when involving state actors - only worsen that psychological burden and erode public confidence in safety and security.
In light of this, while the law must take its full course, I commend the prompt response of the police authorities so far and express confidence that they will pursue this matter to its logical conclusion. Such responsiveness is necessary to reassure the public that justice will not be compromised. I therefore urge the police and all security agencies to sustain this approach by acting with transparency and accountability. Furthermore, recruitment processes must be more rigorous, ensuring that only individuals of sound judgment and the right frame of mind are entrusted with firearms.
In the final analysis, these measures can restore public trust and uphold justice - both of which are indispensable to building a new Nigeria that is possible. -PO

Myself and 3 other Nigerians have been unlawfully detained in Johannesburg airport for literally doing nothing, papers complete, visa valid and they literally just singled us out of the crowd for nothing, and onenof us's phone has been seized all day and hasn't been allowed to reach out to anyone. They are trying to take my own phone now, so I am putting this out so that the world knows that if anything happens to us, south Africa should be held responsible, please repost and tag the authorities concerned..
They are saying that they will detain us for no reason until God knows when.
We are telling them that we want to book another flight back home immediately and they are refusing that.

She died because help was delayed, denied, and buried under rigid rules. 💔
The case of Chioma Isabella Ajana, a 19-year-old law student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Nigeria, stands as a harrowing example of how rigid bureaucracy and a lack of empathy can escalate into a fatal tragedy.
On July 9, 2025, a promising young life was cut short following a series of avoidable administrative hurdles during a medical crisis. The tragedy began on July 4, 2025, at the Elmada Hostel, unfolding over a few critical hours that ultimately led to Chioma's death five days later.
Upon returning to her hostel, Chioma discovered she had lost her room key. This was not merely an inconvenience; Chioma was diabetic, and her life-saving insulin was locked inside the room.Recognizing the onset of a medical emergency, Chioma and her roommates approached the hostel mistress, identified as Mrs. Bright, requesting a spare key.
Reports indicate that Mrs. Bright refused to grant access unless a fine of 120,000 naira was paid immediately. She allegedly cited hostel policy as the justification for withholding the key, despite the visible and escalating physical distress Chioma was experiencing.
For approximately 25 minutes, Chioma reportedly pleaded for help while her health rapidly deteriorated. The hostel mistress remained unmoved by the urgency of the situation. By the time the door was finally opened, Chioma had already lost consciousness.
The tragedy was compounded by an apparent systemic failure within the university’s support infrastructure.
After being extracted from the hostel, Chioma was rushed to the university medical center. Reports suggest the facility was devoid of personnel at the time of her arrival, necessitating a transfer to another hospital.
Chioma battled for her life in intensive care for several days. However, the prolonged deprivation of her medication and the delay in initial treatment proved too much. She passed away on July 9, 2025.The incident has sparked widespread outrage across Nigeria, leading to a closer look at the management of student welfare at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Subsequent interviews with other university staff members suggest that the " #120,000 naira fine" may have been a malicious or incorrect interpretation of hostel rules. Standard procedure typically ensures that spare keys are available for emergencies, especially those involving health and safety.
In response to the public outcry and allegations of prior mistreatment by hostel management, the university has established an investigative panel. The probe aims to determine the extent of Mrs. Bright's liability and why the university's medical services were unavailable during a critical hour. The whereabouts of the hostel mistress, Madam Bright, became a matter of concern following the incident, with some reports suggesting she became unreachable as public outrage peaked.

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply
During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.”
When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans.
In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it.
Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO
