I joined one of the Twitter alternatives, and so far it's my very favorite social media platform; Nobody follows me, I don't follow anybody, there's nothing in my feed, I've made no posts and have no notifications. It's so quiet over there. I love it.

@marcadimartino I think it's fine, and not at all disrespectful. I'm not entitled to a faster response than the editors are capable of. They work hard for little or no pay. Plus, I simultaneously submit, so often end up withdrawing poems when they get accepted elsewhere.

Writers are panicking like Twitter's the only way to find/sell books. Sign up for emails from presses/authors you like. Go to readings. There are more new books than you will ever be able to read, even without Twitter. You are missing out on the majority either way. It'll be ok.
