Spender’s proposed solution shows she still has 0 economics. Budget paper 1 at pg 149 showed current 50% discount UNDERCOMPENSATED for inflation by 4%! Why then reduce the discount!! Increasing it to 55% or 60% is genuine tax reform that grows the economy, or a flat 15% CGT.
Albo then says the Coalition stands for higher taxes when they have promised to repeal his 70% tax on capital! If you’ve jacked up taxes on capital, at least own the policy rather than pretending you haven’t done it! Albo’s so morally reprehensible.

Another interview of straight lies by Albo. The tax on capital is already higher than on labour, 30% versus 27%, so raising the tax on capital to 70% DOES not better align tax rates; it increases the difference!

Anthony Albanese has made a stunning admission about Labor's tax changes, leaving the door open to revisiting the controversial reforms if they don't deliver their intended outcome.

Well said Angus. Labor continue to lie every day on the world’s highest tax on capital with share and business investing at a 70% tax rate. They’re so dishonest and disgusting 👇.

The Prime Minister is a serial liar.
He lied to Australians about Capital Gains Tax and Negative Gearing to get elected. He lied about falling off a stage. He lied about reducing power bills by $275. He lied about mocking the Japanese Prime Minister.
Now, he's lying about his dodgy $6 million taxpayer-funded grant to the Marrickville Golf Club.
In every instance, he has refused to admit he was wrong and apologise. In doing so, he has treated Australians like fools.
His word was never his bond.
Australians deserve a Prime Minister with the honesty to give straight answers to simple questions and the humility to admit when they've made a mistake.
Essential poll Coalition leads Labor 52% to 44%. We just need to keep going, and drive Labor’s vote to 0: expose the truth on their shit show 2026 budget, with 70% tax on saving and investing and the lying pricks they are about it!👇Communism never works.

Exactly correct from One Nation. Labor thinks they are the smartest people in the room, when they’re actually the dumbest. Which makes them so dangerous as they come up with shit policy such as 70% cgt, and still think it’s good!👇

Last night the ATO admitted it didn’t understand how small businesses use credit cards for cash flow, yet cut them off without even consulting them.
That’s the Albanese government to a tee. Career politicians who think they know better than the Australians taking risks and running businesses. They don’t understand the impact, won’t listen and don’t care who pays the price.
Well said Hughesy. Labor want to censure meaningful debate on the internet because they can’t handle the truth about how bad their policies are, such as the world’s highest investing tax at 70%.👇

When the @greens pass Labor’s censorship laws through the senate it’s just one more reminder that they are all in with @australianlabor and that both organisations are conning the Australian people to enrich themselves. If “independant”@DavidPocock follows suit, like he did when he voted through the blatantly lied about tax increase laws, add him to the list. Never forget the role the “charity”@TheAusInstitute plays too. In their own words, “We don’t reveal our major donors to protect them from scrutiny.”
The digital safety bill is an attempt to stop that type of scrutiny. They are telling us it’s to stop such heinous attacks as Helen Haines suffered. But the truth is if it had been in place, it wouldn’t have stopped the attack, but afterwards it could have stopped us from being aware that the attacker had a social media account expressing very similar views to many on the left side of politics. The Labor Government and their partners don’t want the Australian public to have all the information. They want to curate the internet. There is no doubt that the curators will slant things to make themselves the good guys.
This is not the Australia the majority of citizens want.
Greatest irony of all, that Chalmers, the greatest failure of them all with world’s highest investing tax at 70%, wants to fail up by challenging the PM! They’re all useless! Shuffling deck chairs on the titanic.👇

BREAKING: A major civil war has erupted inside the Albanese Government, with a leadership spill officially brewing within the Labor Party.
In a stunning and unprecedented move, Treasurer Jim Chalmers has gone into survival mode, publicly pointing the finger directly at his boss, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, as the primary reason Labor’s popularity has completely plummeted.
Make no mistake, the lines have been drawn, the factions are fracturing, and a leadership spill is coming.
Here is exactly how the civil war is playing out:
Jim Chalmers openly name checked Anthony Albanese and other senior ministers, declaring that everyone is responsible for their own “parts of the shop”
Translation?
He is refusing to take the sole fall for Labor’s catastrophic economic failures and tanking poll numbers.
In what is being viewed as direct code for internal warfare, Chalmers’ comments firmly dump the blame for Labor's cascading crises onto his colleagues:
He ripped into Finance Minister Katy Gallagher for the ballooning public service.
Had a dig at Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke for national security and immigration failures.
Blamed Foreign Minister Penny Wong for diplomatic blunders.
And then stunningly, Anthony Albanese for the absolute disaster of the lot.
With yet another interest rate hike tipped for Melbourne Cup Day, Chalmers is desperately trying to shield himself from the impending fallout of a faltering economy and soaring inflation.
And typically, as the domestic front burns, Albanese is preparing to jet off to Antigua and Barbuda, leaving behind an increasingly toxic, agitated cabinet and a deputy chair relationship that is completely fractured.
The defensive posture from Chalmers proves he knows the ship is sinking.
The blame game has begun, trust is entirely gone, and a challenge for the lodge is now inevitable.
@jason_king72 Jason, you need to come onboard with the good side and fight to reverse this terrible tax. Do you really want to be remembered by yours and others children as the person who fought for the indefensible tax that destroys their future?
We could be looking at 75 k to 100 k ounces of sandstone royalty attributable gold production over a 10 to 30 year period, where they’ll get a 2% revenue royalty at 0 cost, 1/2 that in first two years of production. Raleigh Finlayson wanting in is the icing on the cake!
Just at the Piazza Del Duomo, Milan midafternoon contemplating the BTR Monday announcement and RHI implications, re Sandstone Royalty value as one does! It feels quite positive.
@deepvalueguy1 Yes, they are this hideous combination that typically lies in between Labor and the Greens on most issues, and sometimes to the left of the Greens on the other issues!
Spender is an utter disgrace and part responsible for this highest capital gains tax in the world mess. At least now she’s realised what a f… up it is; and how it destroys our economy! When will Labor realise a 70% tax rate l, and lying about it, doesn’t work👇
@BullivanteTV 50% discount still too higher tax rate I meant to say. On average it slightly undercompensates for inflation; taxes capital at a higher are than Labour.
@BullivanteTV Yes, exactly, 50% discount still too high, taxes capital slightly more than labour which no reputable economist supports. So her 40% discount is a less worse version of Labor’s ghastly stuff that is the opposite of tax reform!
@jason_king72 Read Treasury Budget Paper 1 at page 149; it found on average 50% discount UNDERCOMPENSATED for inflation by 4% on average over the last 20 years. I’ll send it to you when back from holidays in Europe.
@PunishedJeanLuc Yes, that would be fine and good, and or a flat rate at 15% exempting the first 20k or so of CGs per year a year is also fine, simple and equitable
That is so ridiculous and corrupt! Labor spending $300 k per machete bin to make mates rich👇. My guess is Labor MPs have indirect share holdings or interests in the companies making these bins.
