@BrandonTierney @UnderdogMLB There are more guys throwing at peak velocity & more consistently, due to better training, scouting, etc. But they’re not really throwing much harder than the hardest throwers of earlier generations. The evolution of the radar gun over the years is a big reason for these numbers.

As good as he’s been, I think the maturation & growth he’s had as a hitter, and the work that’s a testament to, had been under-appreciated it. This is a 6’7” giant of a human. To be able to hit like this..to be this good average-wise, on top of the obvious power, is just amazing.

My Dad & I went to see Aaron play in Scranton before he got to the Yankees. He hit a monster HR. When he got to the majors, he hit monster HRs. But he K’d A LOT. He was feared, but had weaknesses. The way this man has turned himself into THIS kind of hitter is extraordinary.

@Jeff_Erickson The other issue with that is now you go to the theater conditioned to the fact that the movie will start 25-30 minutes late and when it doesn’t, you end up missing the beginning of the movie.

The Yankees biggest need was a front-end starter to slot behind Fried and in front of Rodon. They didn’t get that. They did a nice job addressing the bullpen, bench and 3rd base. But that rotation isn’t good enough to truly contend.

@robinlundberg Certainly the most significant wrestler. You can argue Vince was the most significant figure for what he did to expand the WWE nationally and consolidate star power, but really splitting hairs. Hogan was the main reason kids in the 80s like myself first tuned into wrestling.
