@BrandiKruse Thanks for pointing out from the post from that guy at discovery institute. It’s sickening , the owners of the homes are barely showing up and you have that guy getting X payouts from it.
Here's the cold facts for those who complain "they can't make it in THIS economy":
Anyone can build anything and make a lot of money.
...You could cold call 1,000... 10,000 businesses this year offering a service and make 50-100k, 200k in the next few months.
Will you?
... You could build something and reach out to 100, 200 VCs (some even worth 8-9 figures) to get feedback or even funding.... and I guarantee you'll get some of them to get on the phone with you. If they won't fund you, they could probably find a job for you.
Will you?
... You could find a company you would love to work for tomorrow... figure out something they're missing... build a potential solution and pitch it to 5, 10, 20 of their execs (depending on their size) THIS WEEK and potentially get a contract job or even a job interview.
Will you?
There is endless opportunity in the US to make something out of nothing.
You can either cry about inflation... or figure out a way to fight it yourself.
"They're sitting out there waiting to give you their money." -- from a famous movie speech
I literally had to recreate my entire career path and did it this exact way.
In America, you're paid for the value you bring.
"That's not true, I'm underpaid."
Okay.
Create a 6-12 month plan TONIGHT about how you can help your company and present it to your boss tomorrow (Monday) with a request for a raise starting now and a raise once you accomplish it.
If they don't want to listen... do this for another company and get hired there.
Don't resume dump on Indeed . com. Reach out to executives personally and I guarantee you'll get on someone's radar.
That's what you find in America and rarely find somewhere else.
It's how broke immigrants come here, start up a service business the next day and go from there.
Because it's possible.
Little bit of beach reading.
Many people forget that people are in business to make money.
My goal at Llewellyn Plumbing is to always charge a fair price but that price is always going to be one where we make a profit.
If I’m not making a profit I may as well be at the beach everyday.
1- started tracking every dollar on every job and every minute on every job. Found out what jobs were making money jobs weren’t making money.
My fractional CFO @jakemaughanGB helped with this
2- use this data to start getting more of the jobs that give us a higher net profit margin. The Meta ads that I learned to run with @stevehunsaker1 have helped a lot with this
3- also use the data from number one to stop working for some bad general contractors
4- implemented a new bonus system with my guys to make sure they get rewarded when jobs are profitable. Also use this to make sure they complete all SOP’s.
