Since 1996–97, no player has made more clutch-time field goals in the postseason than LeBron James (151).
The closest? Kobe Bryant (104).
Tonight… The King added another memorable moment to his resume 👑
He is risen! And because Christ rose again, we will too. Thanks to Him, no pain, fear, failure, or unfairness is permanent. This is greater love. This is Easter.
If LeBron’s incomprehensible 10+ point, 17 year, 1,297 game streak were ever going to end, that was simply the greatest way imaginable:
Sitting on 8 points, tie game, ball in hands, chance to keep streak alive with a make or get to OT with a miss, he… made the right play.
Assisted for the open 3. Ball game. Lakers win.
Just perfect. And we’ll never see anything like that streak again.

Seeing Rick Ankiel hose 2 runners back to back from 350 ft away on the fly with perfect accuracy has to be a top 3 feat that has ever been done on a baseball diamond.
As a young man in the early 1960s, I was training to become a fighter pilot at an Air Force base in Arizona. It was a time of intense learning to enable me to defend my country as a military pilot during a season of cold war across the world. But it was also a time of significant spiritual experiences and growth that helped me to prepare for any of life’s circumstances. I recently had the opportunity to visit this area again and reflect on the extremely different emotional experiences I had there as a young man.
It was during this time in Arizona that I received my patriarchal blessing and entered the house of the Lord for the first time in Mesa, Arizona. These experiences—and all subsequent visits to the house of the Lord—serve as a true and valid compass that guide my decisions to this day.
My Arizona experience couldn’t have been more extreme in contrast. During the weekdays, I was soaring through the sky, learning fighter pilot tactics and how to deliver dangerous weapons. On Saturdays I was driving my 1955 Oldsmobile along bumpy roads to the Mesa Arizona Temple on the other side of the valley. There, in the house of the Lord, I would find great peace as I learned more of our Father’s plan for His children.
The things I learned during these sacred hours helped me find deeper meaning in my life and make better decisions in my various and changing responsibilities.
As I look back on this time of my life, I am eternally grateful for the time I spent in the temple. The quiet sanctuary of the house of the Lord helped me feel and understand the power, purpose, and peace of temple covenants. It also made Sunday church worship and my service in the Lord’s work more meaningful during these early years in my life.
Wherever you are—and whatever season of life you are in—I pray that you can feel the peace that comes from drawing closer to Jesus Christ by worshipping Him in the temple.
We rejoice in remembering our Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in humble circumstances. Heavenly angels heralded His birth. He preached the gospel of repentance, hope, and everlasting life.
He opened the eyes of the blind, made the deaf to hear, healed all manner of afflictions, and raised the dead. He is the Only Begotten of our Father in Heaven, the Firstborn of God’s spirit children. Through His sacrifice and infinite Atonement, we can be reconciled with God by obedience and repentance.
In this season of light and goodwill, we rejoice in Jesus Christ and in His eternal plan of happiness. We invite you to seek Him and the blessings of His peace. Merry Christmas!
Besides my marriage, the two decisions I made that changed my life were to serve a mission and enroll at Brigham Young University. Those two decisions set the course of my life forever.
Brigham Young University (@BYU) taught me what an education truly is. It is the Lord’s university—established by a prophet, led by prophets, and committed to the ideals and values of Jesus Christ.
Transcendent Experience
When a prophet dies, the transition to the next prophet is orderly for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The established pattern is that the senior apostle becomes the next prophet.
After President Russell M. Nelson died Sept. 27, President Dallin H. Oaks was ordained as the church’s 18th prophet in a special meeting of the Twelve on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
In this Church News video, titled "Transcendent Experience," President D. Todd Christofferson of the First Presidency and President Jeffrey R. Holland, president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, talk about their previous experiences participating in a sacred meeting when a new prophet is ordained.
The meeting in which President Russell M. Nelson was ordained as president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the first such meeting President Christofferson was able to attend.
He said he felt the strong impression during the meeting that the process was inspired. “It was the Lord’s will and direction and the witness of his Spirit in the moment that I found very powerful,” he said.
