@B_Lifethology Acceptance.
I always have to start with accepting.
When I fight against them? It's just an endless struggle.
Like swimming against the current.
You have so move with them.
@DallasLunz It's wild how subtle the programming is.
It's just handed to us without us even knowing, and without them even knowing they're carrying on the programming they received.
@george__mack I like this, or I've always asked for 3 possible answers with their recommendation for what they think is best.
It ensures they've thought it through and gives us great ground to work from.
Most of the time, they'll already have a good answer.
I quit for two reasons.
Both of which were for me.
But one reason was moving away from how I was treated.
And the other was towards something new, something different and something my own.
I just had one of my old team members reach out. One of the sweetest guys I've ever known.
It was bittersweet to leave, but it was the right decision.
I navigated the last 18 months providing results while negotiating my worth.
And in the end, they didn't meet me.
The process doesn't always end the way you want.
But the steps are still necessary for you to control your future.
I'm free now. And working towards the life of my dreams.
@ItsKieranDrew I truly enjoy when you write about philosophy and your perspective.
It's the reason you're the guide I trust.
You're a real one, Kieran.
@AmyZenone Everything is going to be fine.
People get so caught up on trying to force a result, they lose their chill and end up messing up the process.
Calm and cool prevails.
I went from being a fresh, clueless engineer to running a business unit.
10 years as an engineer.
5 years of increasing roles in leadership.
The difference?
Influence.
I first learned to execute, but when obstacles got in the way. I only knew how to hammer.
But not everything is a nail.
Execution is nice.
Influence is nice too.
Execution + Influence = superpower.
The world is yours.
You control:
-who surrounds you
-what you do
-where you live
-when you act
-why you exist
-how you live
-how much you enjoy
It's not a prescription given at birth.
It's not a destiny determined by someone else.
It's YOUR life.
@ryandequiroz That's the simplicity of it.
I love this realization.
Everything in life, all the stresses and anxieties are what we add to it or what we fail to accept about it.
Life just is.
Until it isn't.
@itscristabraun Evolution.
It's always powerful to look aback at the old versions of yourself.
The actions you no longer do and the behaviors you no longer display.
Real recognition lies there.
Effort compounds.
Goals become the standard.
The process becomes a part of your identity.
Real change happens when your identity absorbs the process.
Your life changes. Who you are changes.
That lasts.
Otherwise, you end up repeating the same goals.
They don't stick.
